The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has chosen Gernot Rohr, a German manager and former footballer, as a coach of the Super Eagles.
Amaju Pinnickm, the NFF president, confirmed the latest information and said that Mr Rohr will arrive Lagos on Saturday.
There, he will watch the league match between Ikorodu United and Sunshine Stars. On Monday he is expected to visit Abuja, where he will be introduced to Nigerians as a new coach.
Pinnick commented on the development: “We are just tying up the little details left to be handled. The work started quite a while ago but there was the need to wait until everything firmed up before making it public.”
Rohr is currently working on development programmes for the German football association (DFB).
Last year he was sacked by Burkina Faso national football team as manager. He was shortlisted for the Guinea national team job in July 2016.
