My 'Father' In The Lord..

I am sure a lot of platforms have discussed this and you were part of it?lol
Now its time for us to talk the talk here....
Do you call your preacher Father? Is it the same thing as 'Daddy in the Lord'? same as 'Papa'?

A lot of you call your pastors your Spiritual Fathers right?I dont know about you but if you do such, this message may be just for you.

Remember that God is a JEALOUS GOD .....

What do you think about this? After reading this message will you still call your Pastor ''Father,Daddy,Papa''?

    1. The context is what is important here. You need discernment while reading the Bible. I believe this means you can out of respect for your pastors age and calling, call him Father but don't worship him or turn him into a god.
If we were to reason along these lines then even Reno should call his biological father by his name or is it only your biological father you refer to as 'father'?

    4. 1 Cor 4: 15..Paul said "Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel...It is not about the mere word and human translation but the spiritual meaning. Remember the bible was translated to english. The word "father" as Jesus stated here meant "God"...as you have one God in heaven. This is similar to Exodus 20:3 -you shall have no other gods before me... If you call a man "dad" or "daddy" or "father" as long as you do not see him from your heart as your God or pray to him...it does not apply here. God is a spirit and sees the heart...he is not a man. Reno just revealed either his ignorance or his desire for controversy.

    1. Let us learn to read the word of God with a lot of prayers for inspiration from the Holy Spirit to discern...we need that a lot or else we would read it like it's a story book.

To the issue at hand, you see, God knows the end right from the beginning, he knew what christendom would become, anyways, the pharisees were already exhibiting some "ungodly things" so he had to leave an instruction for the future because he knew how worse it would get.

In this country, we revere "men of God" than God himself. People remember what their MOG says and not remember a line of the scripture.

"Daddy GO said this....", "Daddy GO prophesied this...."

I dare say that if your "Daddy in the lord" exhibits any of the characteristics in verses 1 - 12 of the above quoted chapter, you are in the WRONG fellowship!

If your "daddy" or "father" is out of respect for their age, God sees your heart.

But if it is because you see him as a mini-god or worse still because they demanded to be called such. IT IS WRONG.

      Spiritually, only God is father.
Afterall, there is no grandchild of God...

    2. @ bipolar me,thank you! You call them that out of respect for their age or contribution( father figure) to your life and not because you see them as gods, that's when it becomes a sin.... Reno should sometimes keep kwayet!

    6. Biko SDK bvs make una no wound me oo i dont have the energy to type epistle except White Diamond will assist me lol.The reasons are numerous but let me make it as brief as possible, The reason Catholics address thier priests as Father is to remind them of tbe grave responsibilty entrusted on them to cater to both the spiritual (Confession etc) and physical needs (food, shelter etc)of God's flock in his care.Just as a biological Father must nourish, correct, instruct and forgive his children so also a priest for his spiritual children entrusted in his care....

    ReplyDelete
  14. That is the truth.

We are not supposed to refer to them as "Father" or "Daddy". It is not right.

Let's read from the earlier part of that particular chapter 23; 1- 12. It is not a figurative section of the bible, it is as real as ever.

And it referred to the Pharisees who thought they were the MOST HOLY then and still refers to our so called "Pastors"

Who want to be reverred, ran after in church, sit on high tables, and be called "The great teacher"... it's enough to call him "Pastor......" but which one is "Ou daddy, our father in the lord".

I have just one Father in the lord.

This is one of the things I love about the Seventh - Day Adventists (even though I have reservations about some of their other doctrines), their pastors are on the general note, the most humble crop of pastors I know.

  17. This is what you get when you read the bible like you're reading a story book.

This simply means we should not worship any earthly man like we worship our heavenly father.

He should start calling the man that gave birth to him uncle or his name na.

Reno, when next you want to read the bible, ask the Holy Spirit for understanding.

  18. I call pastor. But if u have contributed significantly into my life (spiritually, financially, morally, intellectually) then i can as well call u daddy for playing a father figure to me. Infact any responsible man/woman old enough to be my parent i call them daddy/mummy. The problem lies when people start seeing men of God as God Himself almost like worshipping them. Thats wrong! Some people do not have a personal relationship with God. You have a bad dream at night instead of you to wake up and pray you start calling pastor.

  21. I don't call any Pastor daddy. I address them as "Sir" whenever i come across any.
Although i don't see anything wrong in it. A true christian/believer knows the difference when you call God Almighty "Father" and when you call any other man "Father"

I only have problem with those who call their pastor's wife mummy, kneeling down and genuflecting to them. Especially those old women calling pastors wives mummy.

  23. Why should a God be jealous in the first place? He created human with tendency to sin in the name of freewill and when they do he gets jealous? In fact There is almost no difference between Christian God Yahweh and those Jew's and Greeks that may have Invented him. He gets jealous, loves money, gets angry, degrades women, repents, supported slavery, favours some set of people? why can people see this?

I don't think the creator of this universe should posses these human characters if he is suppose to be All knowing and just. Also taking inconsideration the fact that revealed religion itself is mostly influenced by location and childhood indoctrination and this is one of the reasons why with reason, I rejected revealed religion including Christianity and embraced Deism ,coz I believe God gave us reason and not religion (apologies if this offended you) -@tweetest_boi

They will tell you to simply look to the cross.

All these people questioning the men of God, are they doing the same to their ocultic grand masters, imams, their chief priests and all other such satanic religious leaders? Why christian dom? This is the current method the devil is using to rubbish the children of God and some blind Christians are joining the fight. When st Paul addressed Timothy as his son what was he expecting Timothy to address him as? When st Peter addressed his audience/ readers/ early church as his children, what does he mean? Meanwhile, who are you to judge another man's servant? My pastor is my father, my papa, daddy, my Lord spiritual. The same goes to my biological father and all godly elderly men around me.

Do not read the Bible literally. Even you Stella have a lot to learn by jumping to conclusion that is is wrong to call someone father apart of from God. God is our Father with a capital "F" and only him deserves the highest respect and honour above our earthly fathers.

Who among dese 3 God's is most powerful?. Dia re mny verses in d bible wia Jesus himself has attest 42 d fact dat dia is 1 supreme Being God Almighty. Dese writers even went further 2 say dat d Old testament is old nd as passed way nd d new testament is d in thing. Even God Almighty said "look unto Abraham thy father, and to Sarah that bore thee. Elisha called Elijah Father, Paul called Timothy son, what Jesus was trying to say was,a father figure basically provides, protects, inspires, and should be anyone's first and ultimate source,so we as children should look unto God alone, and unto no man, because it is God Almighty who can truly fulfill that role in our lives.let God alone be ur ultimate source for Everything. That's why the Bible says the letter killeth, but the spirit gives life.when u read the Bible, interpretation from the holyspirit is very important, that's why we have crazy doctrines everywhere.people preach anything.
