Former Delta state governor James Ibori is a year older today but he is in jailed in the UK for money laundering and cannot celebrate, however his daughter Erhiatake Ibori who is a member of the Delta state House of Assembly is celebrating him with an ODE....
36 year old Ehiatake Ibori, who represents Ethiope West constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly wason Tuesday booed off the stage during a valedictory/tribute session for the late Olorogun Felix Ovuodoroye Ibru, the first civilian governor of Delta State.
The PDP legislator’s surprising lack of coherence first attracted murmurs from the crowd present for the event at Government House.
She had been asked to pay a tribute on behalf of her father but exhibited considerable difficulty trying to pronounce even words that were boldly written on the burial brochure.
Appearing and sounding visibly frightened, she repeated lines that had already been read, and then was floored when she tackled the words “magnanimous”and “meritoriously.” The murmurs grew into boos.
Embarking on a rescue mission, her father’s successor as governor and her cousin, Mr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who rose to pay his own tribute, provided some comic relief. The former medical doctor diagnosed the situation as one where Erhiatake’s glasses were probably not very good. The crowd erupted in another round of uncontrollable laughter.
James Ibori it is rumoured might be freed this year.

DeleteAs far as leaders go, Ibru and Ibori is the best Delta State has ever had till today.
Come to Delta state, say that nonsense and watch us slap you into a black hole. Ignoramus!
Anon 13:48. Stop glorifying criminality. I am from Delta state, Urhobo just like Ibori. He is a criminal that is why he is prison in the UK and l say it anywhere. He couldn't bribe the judge in the UK. He gave himself a useless title 'Ogidigbogbo', he boasted he doesn't lose any battle. Now he is prisoner. What a shame!
Delete..why he is in prison..... Now he is a prisoner...

ReplyDeleteNo.
DeleteShamelessness
ReplyDeleteOnly in Naija
Your father is in jail for corruption but you feel no shame, you're not ostracized instead you go into public service
If it was in a sane clime, that would be the end of that lineage politically but not, not in Naija. You know a man is a kingpin when he stays in prison and gets his daughter elected into public office.
Hope she's not a dullard sha.
The best governor delta state has produce even though am not in support of his criminal act... no matter what it may seems the daughter will wish him well, his still her father... hbd odidigbogbo 1 of african
