Ex-Gov Akpabio Allegedly Trembles As Court Clears EFCC To Investigate Akwa Ibom finances

There is fire on the mountain for Mr. Uncommon Transformation, ex-governor Godswill Akpabio.

Justice Ntong Ntong of the Akwa Ibom State High Court, sitting in Ikot Ekpene, on Friday vacated an order of interim injunction restraining the EFCC from investigating the accounts of Akwa Ibom State Government as well as some of the state’s past officials.

The court had on July 13 ruled in favour of an ex-parte motion filed before it by the Akwa Ibom State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Uwemedimo Nwoko, seeking an order of interim injunction restraining the Federal Government or any of its agencies, including the EFCC, the ICPC and the Inspector General of Police from arresting, detaining or investigating any official of the state government, past or present, without any report of indictment by the state House of Assembly.

An EFCC source said one of those being investigated is Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of the state who is the current minority leader of the Nigerian Senate.

Akpabio is said to be have visited some APC leaders secretly to beg them to talk to EFCC to forget his side. But it appears those moves did not yield the expected results.
WE gathered from official sources that Akwa Ibom got the highest allocation from the federation account all through Akpabio's tenure, running into Trillions of Naira. Not much to show.

Now the restraining order has been vacated, sources say there is palpable fear in Akpabio's camp.

    4. One thing is for sure, akpabio stole a shit load of money, probably millions or even billions of dollars. After deziani this man is next, he took advantage of his relationship with Jonathan to loot funds. Why do you think he was mr. Generous to the ladies? The money was damn there in excess

    5. They better leave him.

Yes Akwaibom state got the highest allocation from FG during Akpabio's tenure, but let's be factual here, he made good used of those funds, infrastructure were on ground as at his time of exist, what happened to Rivers and Delta state, Delta state was the second highly allocated, followed by rivers state if my calculation is correct.

In these state, the former govs did practically nothing.

I commend Akpabio's stride, and if he is anticipating as governor in 2019, I will surely mobilise and vote for him.

    8. My friend, you don't know what you are talking about if you think Akpabio made good use of the money he got...

He did not use 1/10th of the money he got. If with that 1/10th , you think he did so well, Imagine if he made use of 1/2 of the monies. The amount of money he got, no state governor past or present has ever gotten.

Most of the projects he completed were those of the previous administration, yet he took glory for them yet his parochial mind didn't let his put together a technical team to provide a vision for the future.

No! If you compare the money he got to what he did...No, he didn't do well but if you compare the state to what it was before ,then one can say yes, he worked
