OMG.....Eyaaaah!
Hi Stella,
I need the advice of the doctors here. Thanks.
Few years back, I tested positive to hepatitisB. I didn't understand
it was STD, Google wasn't my help (no phone), and nobody/doctor
explained what the disease is about. I am petite, so I didn't notice I
was losing weight on time. Now I have attributed my weight loss to
this disease.
I want to know if I can start taking drugs like livolin (Google search
and nairaland), without going for the second test which I believe is
Viral load. I can't afford the viral load test for now, but I know I
can be buying the drug monthly by God's grace.
NOTE TO "JUDGINAS" : I am sure I didn't get infected through sex, I
wasn't sex active when I did the test and still not sex active, so I
am not spreading it.
Please I don't want to be thinner than this, will really appreciate
your advice and suggestions. Thanks
Hmmmmmm

DeleteLivolin is like a multivitamin that keeps the liver healthy while delaying the effects of the disease on it... There are drugs that directly acts on the virus but you must visit a hospital to get the drugs... Any other infection that affects the liver can hasten the bad effects on ur liver including high doses of drugs/alcohol...please bv its not only through sex its acquired, a lot of people got it from sick relatives and friends that they tended either at home / hospital while thinking it was malaria.. Risk of transmitting it to close contacts is very high as its more virulent than hiv, although the carrier lives normal lves... There are many causes of weight loss so u still have to go to the hospital
ReplyDeletePoster, even if you don't have money, Hepatitis B isn't a disease you joke around with by just self treating yourself. Pls be guided.
ReplyDeleteVisit any general hospital. Test done there are way cheaper but that it may be time consuming. The money you want to use in buying the drugs, use it to visit a clinic and kick-off things from there pls. All the best.
Good day. I'm sorry about your condition. sexual intercourse is not the only means of getting infected with hepatitis B. Hepatitis B is transmitted through contact with blood, semen, vaginal fluids, saliva or from mother to baby before or during birth. it could be contacted from sharing needles/sharps, blood transfusion and so on. If you were tested positive few years ago, that's when you should have started treatment, with that it wouldnt have gotten to the stage of having weight loss. Sign of weight loss in hepatitis B infection may imply that the liver is getting more damaged. There are drugs we give to manage this condition. Moreso, hepatitis is not the only disease causing weight loss. So i will advise u see a doctor around you so as to examine u and undergo various tests, by this appropriate drugs/medications can be given to you. And i believe you will be fine. Take care
ReplyDeleteIn other words you catch it from kissing, sucking breast and fingering an infected person.
DeleteYes hepatitis B, and if you have sore/wound in your mouth or on your finger.
DeleteHepatitis B infection,
ReplyDelete- can be acute (less than 6months), chronic(more than 6 months)
-Common ways of transmission include:Sexual contact, Sharing needles, accidental needle prick, mother toc hild through child birth etc
-High risk people should get vacinated which include, sexually active indivisual with multiple sexual partner or homosexual, iv drug abusers, health care workeds, dailysis patinet ext,
IN SUMMARY MAKE SURE YOU ARE VACINATED. PREVENTION IS BETTER.
For the poster ,see a doctor soon.
HEPATITIS B can lead to cirrohsis and liver cancer,
Pls go to a teaching hospital and see a gastroenterologist. U need to be properly investigated and treated.livolin will not do anythinh
