Budget Padding - Youth Council Submits Evidence Against Jibrin

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) yesterday submitted more evidence to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in support of their petition against a former chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumim Jibrin, over an alleged N418 million fraud.

Following a petition by Jibrin accusing the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and some members of the House of budget padding, the president of the youth council, Ikenga Ugochinyere, said Jibrin must come to equity with clean hands.

He told newsmen in Abuja yesterday at the EFCC office in Wuse Zone 7 that the council was invited to endorse their petition and provide more evidence in support of their petition against Jibrin over the fraud in constituency projects.

He said they brought this up now because Jibrin had been on the forefront of asking that the appropriation process be sanitized.
