Details of the First Lady of Nigeria Aisha Buhari’s upcoming trip to the United States this August have emerged.
News of Mrs. Buhari’s trip to the US follows accusations by embattled Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose that she was involved in the famous Halliburton scandal and, as a consequence, cannot go to the US for fear of being arrested.
Independent investigations by SaharaReporters and the New York Times have found that the First Lady Aisha Buhari is not the same "Aisha Buhari" involved with the Halliburton scandal, despite Mr. Fayose’s persistent remarks.
According to an official invitation letter obtained by SaharaReporters, Mrs. Buhari is expected to be in the US from August 1st to the 10th and will be attending bilateral meetings at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
She will also be hosted by the United States Institute of Peace in collaboration with Voice of America media organization.
The invitation also says that Mrs. Buhari “will attend the 25th Anniversary celebration of Zumunta Association USA Inc.”
The letter was signed by Hajo Sani, the Senior Special Assistant (Administration), on behalf of Mrs. Buhari.
It will be recalled that SaharaReporters previously published a report, based off of leaked documents from the US State Department, that Mr. Fayose had his US visa revoked since 2006 following evidence of his sponsoring violence in Ekiti State and for corrupt practices. This visa revocation means that Mr. Fayose is unable to travel to the US legally.

LMAO.
Oriegwu!!
ReplyDeleteMessed up goverment. Since Buhari went against his own rule of no medical treatment for govt officials and broke d law 1st, am ANTI- buhari!!!
DeleteLet her go and bribe them to clear her name of course, what other reason could she possibly have to visit the US. Bunch of criminals. For ur info, she is the one ruling Nigeria, not her old man.
DeleteOkay, we are waiting!
DeleteIs the invitation letter not meant to come from the host ?, Why is ot from the state house? The original letter should be shown. whats the bilateral meeting about? I smell lies.
DeleteThis Fayose issues reminds me of Amechi and Patience. How things seem to always repeat themselves.
DeleteWait o, I just noticed the headline has been blurred out.
DeleteAnother irrelevant waste of money and an 'over-reaching' attempt to prove one's innocence. Madam should sit her funky arse down.
ReplyDeleteE fit no mean sey she no guilty, even America corrupt... So wetin em dey try reason
DeleteNonsense.!!!
ReplyDeleteAhahah cat and mouse game. This is some ish. Even if she doesn't feel like attending, she must go by fire by force. Hian
ReplyDeleteRead again. The letter has address as State House instead of the United States, she is inviting herself, watch out for her old pictures from that University probably for an old event. Sisi Eko think. Think. Think

ReplyDeleteLol, politics and drama
ReplyDeleteGators should focus on bringing Ekiti out of poverty. That is my state and I'm not proud of that state. Everything about ekiti is under developed. The former governor would have done a better job but since our people are lazy and dependant on begging Fayose used their stomach to garner votes for himself. Hope the stomach infrastructure is still sustainable.
ReplyDeleteYou're from Ekiri State? Please tell Gov Fayose to attend to the home front, his table at tge Government House is filled with petitions, unattended to. We are tired.
DeleteNo be only Ekiti state. This girl is a Psycho I swear down.
Delete..... so it's even Fayose that can't go to the USA....
ReplyDeleteFaked passport!!!, I hope this will not be a fake trip too. Our leaders are ever ready to go to any lenght to cover up their mess. Just look at the amount of time NANS is going through to protect their accused members for asking for commercial sex workers in the US as if that is even important. About 50% of men may have patronize commercial sex workers at some point in their life. What do I care about a senators personal life. What we should care about its their bogus salaries. If we reduce the salaries of all elected officials Nigeria to 100,000 naira per month, I'm sure the patronage of commercial sex workers in the US will reduce or stop.
ReplyDeleteSafe trip madam wife of the president. Americans are not above bribe, so if you go and come back well Fayose will have to obey that court order.
