Oritsejafor Says Christians Betrayed And Insulted Him As CAN President

The immediate-past president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has opened up on his reign as the leader of CAN.

Ayo spoke to Daily Sun on how he weathered the storm as leader of the apex Christian body in the country and how he was betrayed and insulted by Christians.

He said Christians plotted against him and equally insulted him even when he put his life on the line for them.
Oritsejafor said he took over the mantle of leadership at the most trying times in the country.
“We came in a period the challenges of the church had reached a point that lots of Christians in Nigeria had been displaced from their home and churches.
“Some pastors, particularly, in northern Nigeria were closing their churches. Lots of Nigerians had become internally displaced persons in their homes,” he said.

He called on Nigerians, particularly the Christian faithful, to stand behind the new president of CAN, Pastor Samson Ayokunle and his team in order to withstand the challenges ahead.

*The Betrayal might have been a two way thing.

    1. Indeed. When you were stepping out of boundary, they had to dissociate themselves from you because they didn't think that u were representing CAN again sir.

You became a political tool at some point, you delved into matters that didn't concern you or the office you occupied. Nigerians saw all these, so it wasn't only the Christians that criticized you.

      Ook bye Pastor.

  7. You betrayed yourself Ogbeni! Not only betrayed yourself but our trust & the mantle placed on you as our leader. Tell me one tangible thing to promote Christianity when you where the CAN president especially in the north? You had the President ears yet evil was been perpetrated & not even one noteworthy action or reaction or even speech from you. Shift abeg!

  8. Not might my dear, it was a two way thing.. I'm surprised to know CAN is still in existence as men of God have been bought over and find it difficult saying things the way it is.

  9. You threw your faith out the door when you were president of CAN! You didn't advise Gej, you didn't listen to God! You misused the opportunity given to you by God to touch lives!

  10. You betrayed Christians all over the world by delving into politics and finding yourself in the pocket of GEJ, even going as far as transporting the nations wealth with your private jet.
Please, Mr bling bling, all Christians to rest, we have suffered enough by the reproach you and your likes brings to God's house.

  23. The church has been compromised. PFN has been compromised that is why people never want to believe on a man of God again.

    Sorry for you

  24. Even Jesus Christ was betrayed. Talking about the north who sent you Christians to go and preach there? Jesus gave his disciples power and authority to go heal and preach but he also told them that any house or city they get to and are rejected they should dust their slippers and take their peace away as they leave. Even in Acts Paul says he was forbidden by the Holy Spirit to go and preach the gospel in Asia ( where the Arab or Muslim countries are till present date ) . Christ did not do many works in certain places because he was rejected so he left. You will see these in Matthew , Mark , Luke etc . We Christians back here need preaching more than those northerners and besides it is God calls on whom he will save wether we preach or not. Pls Christians in the north come back home God will provide even if you've established yourselves there. Muslims whom have converted relocate to more tolerant Christian cities or states, leave everything behind, the Lord said pick up your cross and follow me and he most surely will provide. PEACE
