By the way people were looking at her like log of wood not because they don't care but for what Nigeria has turned into.Some pepole are afraid after scary stories of alms beggars appearing to benefactors and so much more. There was a day I was passing somewhere too and someone was begging for alms and I wanted to give her out of my remaining 200 naira, I was broke, no breakfast , no hope for diner or lunch. Only for me to notice this beggar; not only with plenty money in her nylon but with food and juice. And that's not the first or last time I would see something like that. Yes a little more love can save the world just choose your love wisely.

DeleteHonestly with the way the World is going, there many signs of WWIII and u know what's gon trigger it? Just Political Rift which branches into Racial Hate and Religion Hate. Am a Christian who is baptized and all that but come to think of it? What made me a Christian? I was born into it. Give birth to triplet, immediately after birth give one to a Christian Family, give one to an Islamic family and the Last to a Traditional ruler then watch their orientation as they grow. So now u understand that religion is just what u was taught growing up? Brain washing. It has caused a great hate between humans. Churches today don't preach salvation anymore, pastors brain wash their members and members barely believe the scriptures anymore, all they do is according to Daddy GO. It's no more religion, it's now Legion.

Our celebrities make videos and pics of when they visit the orphanage and when they share foods even at the IDP camps yet we praise them.. This young man pushed boundaries and sat with this woman, gave her a moment that she would carry till her last breathe, sat down and begged for alms for her and took photos with her yet some said she is a witch or he is too proud? Omg pls save us blacks from mental slavery. We need brain cleanson lol.

ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of something. On my way to work one day, I was running very late. They were already calling me numerous times to ask where are you blah bla. Near the office I passed by an old woman crying. She was standing in front of a hospital so I felt she had lost a loved one or something. I wanted to stop to ask her what was wrong but I was so late for work I decided not to. When I passed by her, I heard her say "sister.... "I couldn't hear what she was saying. I continued walking but was trying to decipher what she might had said to me in my head. I suddenly realised she had said "sister pls help me cross the road". I said fuck work and turned back and started practically running back to where she was as I realised she was crying because she couldn't cross the road herself and no one had stopped to help her.the road isn't too busy but as an old woman she couldn't cross it. I was practically sprinting back when I was just close to and about to say ma... she stopped 2other girls who were passing by and they helped her cross. I said thank God in my head. But also asked God to forgive me cos I didn't stop initially just cos of getting in trouble at work.

DeleteJust this last term,I was coming from shcool pick up one afternoon and the traffic light stopped us and this small boy approached my car. He was shirtless and looked Gaunt. He had a hunchback too. A child of not more than 13 years or so.
As he stood near my window,waving and begging,I waved and muttered and made signs that I didn't have any money. Kai! I felt so bad cos Most times,I don't carry my wallet for simple errands.I proceeded to check my pigeon hole and all other holes,but nothing.
The poor boy just stood there,not really expecting anything as he understood I didn't have money.
I glanced at him and I was like,this is someone's little boy. And It broke my heart! But then,something came out of it.As I thought of my own kids,it miraculously just dawned on me they had party packs with them. The two girls had three party packs with them!
And I just turned to them and said "Girls,pls I need you to give me your party packs. They also noticed the boy and knowing them, I knew they'd play ball.
Although I must add that my younger daughter would want the party pack pressies. And without any hesitation,they agreed. My first daughter was already saying " oh poor boy!
I wound down and handed the boy the party packs. And he smiled. But then my second daughter said "Mommy wait,he can have this" It was her pop corn from the party pack. They were already eating their pop corns and had their unopened juice with them,
My second daughter handed the pop corn and the juice over and the boy had a biiig smile on his face. I handed the other set of pop corn goodies to him wih a big smile,thankful I tot of this. Traffic moved that instant and we moved. He waved at us and the girls and I waved back. And as we moved,I was watching him. He was still at that spot,one hand up,waving and the other hand,popping pop corn in his mouth and. I stil watched him as he sat down on the sidewalk,balanced well,kept d pop corn down and made to open his juice and properly enjoy his snack.
I fet a kind of Peace and fulfilment I have never felt in a loong while.And I muttered "Thank You Father. Take care of that boy and the rest of suffering children world over"
That's so sweet. The most sweetest in life is to give/ reach out to those who don't have a dime without asking in return

ReplyDeleteI used to have a friend that invited me to her Church one Sunday, i went to her house so we could go together; on our way to the Church, there was a little boy at the bus/taxi stop, we were waiting for a taxi and this little boy came to ask us for alms, i opened my bag and gave the little boy few euros (in paper), and my friend refused to give the little money. I was a little bit upset with her as i asked her why she refused to give; she said the money on her was only for a taxi, offering and tight. I told her, God will not accept such offering! You have to give to the needy first before giving to God through the Church.
When we got to her Church, there was an altar call about their head pastors birthday, they needed some contribution to buy him another car (Jeep), this is a man that has series of cars in his compound in Nigeria, to my greatest surprise, my friend was among the first five people that went to the altar and contributed 50Euro. After the service, as we were returning home; i told her how wicked she is for refusing to give that little boy some alms, but ran to the altar to do eye-service. She was upset with me and from that day our friendship was no longer healthy.
There is joy in giving, more joy in giving randomly.

Mrs Romas, your friend reserve the right to give God her money. Whether she gave to a rich pastor or not, as far as she is concerned, she gave to God.
You gave to the beggar, she gave to church, what makes you think you are better than her? Jesus Christ paid a visit to Martha and Mary. Martha being a kind human , rushed to the kitchen to prepare food for Jesus seeing he was tired, Mary being a wise woman sat on the feet of Jesus to listen to him preach, she knew despite the fact that he looked tired, he is still a divine God. Now looking at it with our sentimental mind, we will praise Martha right, what a wife material. Let us look at what Jesus said to them when Martha complained, Luke 10:42 Mary has chosen a good part, which will not be taken away from her. Your friend chose the right part but you are too logical in your reasoning. The woman who poured the costly perfume on Jesus feet was rebuked by one of the disciples, why can't sell it and give to the poor? What is Jesus Christ response? You better find that your friend and keep her close.
It is not every beggar you come across to that you give to. I am going to raise some feathers now . Be led by the spirit of God in every thing that you do including giving. You might give and end up in trouble and tomorrow you will start ranting, i gave this and i gave that , why did this happen? Because you refused to listen to the spirit of God.
Look at the prodigal son in the bible, imagine you passed him and saw him eating from the pigs pen and you gave him some small money, do you think he would have returned to his father? He would have remained there out of pride and be managing the suffering. The period he was there, God was working on him so he would return to his father. When he returned to his father, he became far more richer than he ever would have been.
Isaiah 11:2–3 Jesus was not moved by what he saw or heard. He was moved by the spirit of God.
Follow the peace that God puts within your spirit to do or refrain from doing something.
