The Federal Government has confirmed that it will commence its National Home Grown School Feeding Programme in September with 5.5 million pupils nationwide.
National Programme Manager, Mrs Abimbola Adesanmi, disclosed this in Abeokuta on Wednesday.
She spoke at the opening of a two-day stakeholders’ workshop on the Ogun State Home Grown School Feeding Programme.
Adesanmi noted that the scheme “would accommodate pupils in Primary 1 to 3 at the outset, and would move to other classes once the nation’s resources improves”.
The official further explained that all the states of the federation would benefit from the social intervention programme, depending on their preparedness.

All right.
ReplyDeleteUna try... Is this supposed to improve the quality of education or what?
ReplyDeleteWhen parents package food for their kids,is it supposed to improve their education? Negativity and bitterness everywhere.
DeleteAnd I still ask if this feeding is what is needed.
ReplyDeleteWhen I calculate the money that will go into this program, I see good well paid teachers, I see good hospitals, basic amenities in some rural and urban settling.
How I wish they can forget about this feeding and channel the money into other areas of governance.
my thoughts exactly.. besides we all know this is another way for the rich to get richer n viseversa.. the ones to handle it will take advantage n well.. back to square one again
DeleteDid u know that back in the day the govt served university students. Our parents talk proudly of those times and how Nigeria was better. Lets see how this goes anyway
Delete@anon 10:07, when I hear about Nigeria's past glory I really wish things will get back to those days with this age and technology.
DeleteUniversity students used to have cleaners make their beds and subsidized rates on breakfast at the cafes. Chai! When my dad tells me such stories I weep for Naija.
DeleteLol this will make going to school interesting for school pupils, as they will be looking forward to the meal.
ReplyDeleteJust a means of sadaka buhari is doing sadaka to cleanse his head and family and also another means to feed the littered amajiris them and a means to divert public funds.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Do you always think this shallow? Kind of sad. No depth or reasoning. From ur comment u sound like a muslim.pls dont give Islam a bad name by posting something this myopic.
DeleteMiserable being, that was part of his mandate you hoodlums first said he didnt fulfil, now he is doing it,you want to die again. Better make sniper your cold drink.
DeleteAvenue for many Naija children to chop witch from those possessed Teachers like ours who confessed they wanted to do that during our home economics cooking session way back in school ...
ReplyDeleteLord Please Protect your Children.
That's why the food should be well packaged from delegated factories.
DeleteReally Govt of Change. From primary school children to only pry 1 to 3. From 5000 to all unemployed to the most vulnerable people.
ReplyDeleteIt is everytime we hear about this feeding. Goodluck to the children. I hope they will pray well before they eat the food. Bad things full this country.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing some Pri 4-6 pupils attending Pri 1-3 classes just for the meals.
ReplyDeleteLmao
DeleteGood for them
ReplyDeletemisplaced priority!
ReplyDelete@Pink Lady 100likes for your comment. Indeed misplaced priority and it's so sad that Nigerians seems happy about this development.
DeleteNonsense feeding.
ReplyDeleteNaija government with misplaced priority. How long will this program last? Is this what we really need now? Salaries haven't been paid for months, no light to even charge phone talk more of running a business, yet our clueless government be starting a program they can't maintain.
ReplyDeleteThe thunder the thunder that will fire all of them is still strekking from sokoto.
Enough of this procrastination already.
ReplyDeletePeople want action .
Very true @ LINDY most of the teacher's in these Nigerian school's are possessed. There is this incident that hoppend long ago about a little girl that was very intelligent & her result was always d best in d class each term, but immediately they changed the teacher handling her class the little girl became "dull" automatically. But thank God the girls mother was a strong Christian and after much prayer and fasting it was revealed that it was the new teacher that exchanged d little girl's brain with that of her child. That was how d teacher was exposed and d little girl got her brain back & was also delivered.

ReplyDeleteScam alert!
ReplyDeleteYou can feed pupils when you owe their teachers cos two things are sure to happen.
ReplyDelete1: The teachers will take half of the food home to feed their families.
2: The teachers will take most of the home to feed their families.
Mission will not accomplished cos pupils will not be fed and will still go home hungry
