STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
WHEN *GBENSHING' GOES WRONG.

Hi Stella,

Okay so i would try to keep this as brief as possible. Am a 22 year old medical student, am in my 2nd year of med school, i have been in this country for 6 years but i had to do my first degree before med school as is the practice here. so i have been here for a while but i generally wasn't able to engage in many social activities due to my tight schedule as a med student, by September this year I would officially start my clinical studies so I would permanently be in the hospital which is very stressful and busy. 

So I decided this summer I won't travel back home and I would try to have some fun. I met a Nigerian girl who was in college here about 1 month ago and we hit it off, last Friday she sent me a message that she was going to the club, so i offered to come with her. we had a lot of fun and when we were done we got a taxi and went back to her place, as expected we had sex. 

I had volunteered to assist in A children hospital the next day so left immediately we were done so i wouldn't over sleep. on Saturday evening i sent her a message to check on her, then she told me she was really drunk the night before and didn't really remember what happened, I was so shocked, I told her what had happened and she made jokes about it and said she must have been really drunk to have forgotten. 

I know for a fact that someone who is drunk cannot consent to sex so am really worried about where that puts me, i promise she didn't even seem drunk, she had only 1 shot of jack Daniels and a bottle of coke when I was there only if she had been drinking before she left home. at first I wasn't worried, but as days pass I have become more worried that I could be accused of rape any day.

My family and I have invested so much in my education and I wouldn't risk all that for a few minutes of pleasure, my bro said i shouldn't worry about it, but am considering going to see her so we can clarify what actually happened, am so confused and stress right now. 

is it rape if i didn't know she was drunk? 

i know the fact that i left immediately makes my story seem so bad but she invited me back to her place and she was sober enough to call the taxi and even asked me if i wanted any thing to drink when we got to her place, i don't think it was possible for me to know she was that drunk. am i worried over nothing or should in be worried?

*sigh*..This is serious!
