Buhari Reveals 31-year-old Secret Of Why IBB Removed Him As President..

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he was removed from office 31 years ago because he was planning to purge the military hierarchy of corruption.

Buhari, who has not spared the military even in his ongoing anti-corruption war, said senior military leaders, led by a former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, and General Aliyu Gusau, removed him in August 1985, to save themselves from his wrath.

In an exclusive interview published in the current edition of The Interview magazine, Buhari challenged Babangida and Gusau, to tell the truth on why they carried out the coup against him.

“I learnt,” he said, “that Aliyu Gusau, who was in charge of intelligence, took import licence from the Ministry of Commerce which was in charge of supplies and gave it to Alhaji Mai Deribe.

"It was worth N100,000, a lot of money at that time. I confronted them and took the case to the Army Council in a memo...I wanted Gusau punished."
In a statement on www.theinterview.com.ng, the Managing Director/Editor-in-chief of The Interview, Azu Ishiekwene, said, “This is one edition that won’t let sleeping dogs lie.”

Babangida had told The Interview in its December edition that there was nothing in the memo which Buhari said he submitted to the Army Council.
"Don't forget that I was one of Buhari’s closest aides. I was the chief of army staff. So, I had an important position, an important role to play in that administration. I don't think it had to do with a memo," Babangida said.

But in a tone which revealed that the past might neither have been forgotten nor forgiven, Buhari challenged Babangida and Gusau to come clean on why they removed him, asking The Interview to choose whose story to believe.

He also fielded questions about his health, the 2016 budget, the pace of his government, former President Goodluck Jonathan and why Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola was handed three ministerial portfolios......

*The interview has not been posted online.

If it has no significance to this administration then let sleeping dogs lie biko. Too much is going on right now. Besides, IBB isn't too strong for any drama right now. The evil genius is laying low .

Eh pls who has heard from OBJ lately? He has been too quiet oo

    7. Banbangida was running a drug cartel in Buhari-Idiagbons regime. Babangida sensed danger when GLORIA OKON(one of their carrier and mariam Babangidas best friend)was caught, because then if you are caught trafficking drugs, its death penalty. GLORIA OKON was swapped with another prisoner(GLORIA OKON is still alive, hale and hearty in the UK) who was killed. Buhari wanted to probe their activities because Babangida was under US watch, hence his inability to travel to the US. The first thing Ibb did after the coup was to remove death sentence placed on drug trafficking and he set up NDLEA(which he had his boys running). Buhari-Idiagbon wanted to clamp down their cartel, but the coup prevented them. We cannot move forward if we dont tackle corruption. Corruption is like a monster we all have to deal with. Moreso, its a no pain-no gain thing. Let us read through the history of all these developed nations and see what they passed through. How can a gold come out beautiful without passing through fire?

    9. @BA. You know this. Now everyone should understand why that Kashamu man is kissing Buhari's ass. He knows they are closing up on him soonest, hence his mumbo jumbo. I also heard that they'll pick him soon from the national assembly. President Buhari will authorize his extradition. It'll be a major disgrace when the time comes. Fingers crossed

    12. @ Ba you are very right. But may be we will get to the root of the history you just summarised after the demise of IBB. Remember Dele Giwa got punished for digging deep. JESU OLUGBALA

  9. Stella Kork please stay away from these people, there is more than meets the eye. You are a trained journalist, why not do underground check or in depth investigation while this administration is running and unlock a lot of mysteries. So you follow them cautiously and graciously on issues dating back to 1985. History never forgets.

Can President Buhari frankly tell Nigerians why the Late Chief Olu Saraki(Sen Bukola Saraki's Daddy) wanted to probe him back then. He instigated a coup, succeeded and entered office with Late Idiagbon, then all the files for the probe got burnt. Why? Why? And Why? Today at work, some peeps left what everyone was called in to resolve and argued silly into hours about Buhari and Jonathan. People are hungry and hopeless as it is, let them work on the inflation index not stories of 1984 to 1999.

I recall all my Popsie's political gists. This country. Hmmmmm. I no fit shout abeg.

  17. An average Fulani man NEVER FORGET and they don't FORGIVE. It might take them years but they will surely revenge. I have always knew this is the main reason Buhari wanted to be the president. He does not care about Nigeria or the citizen. Thank God I did not vote for him, in as much as I wanted PDP out, I never supported APC choice of candidate. Only God can save this country. I can't wait for his teneur to end already. Stella abeg just be careful o, Fulani man no dey hear abeg o, e con be ex military man again. Jesus is Lord!

  18. Very good buhari. First ever president to challenge all these looters we Nigerian hail as our mentors or lordships. That's why we live in penury regardless of the millions we claim to have in our account. It still look worthless given the exonomic standard of the states.
Buhari is fighting a war and there will always be casualties and spoils of war at the end of every battle. We the youths should have a changed mentality and support where possible.
Example: 100% of the youths are born in corruption. So that's the only way of life we know.
Having a new approach is a tough one that's why we will all complain.
David Cameron changed so much after winning from Gordon brown. So much crunch then. Now it's back to normal.
We all need a positive mentality else our children will grow into these penury way of life we living and be worse off.
    God bless Nigeria.
