Aisha Buhari Presents N30m Cash Support To Chibok Girls’ Parents

Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari has presented N30 million cash support to parents of the abducted Government Secondary School (GSS) Chibok students in Borno.

Represented by the wife of Borno State governor, Hajiya Nana Shettima, Mrs Buhari presented the cash to the parents at a ceremony in Maiduguri.

She pointed out that the presentation was in fulfilment of her promise to assist the less privileged and victims of insurgency in the North East.

Mrs Buhari explained that the gesture was aimed at assisting the parents with some financial support towards alleviating their sufferings.

“Today’s presentation was in fulfilment of the promise I made earlier in the year during my book launch in Abuja.
“I made a promise that the proceeds will be used to better the lives of women and victims of insurgency in the North East,’’ she said.

She urged beneficiaries to invest the money in productive ventures so it can better their living conditions.
“This money is not compensation, but, a kind of support for those in need.
“Our immediate prayer is for God to help trace and rescue the abducted girls so that they can be safely re-united with their families,’’ Buhari said.

The president’s wife commended the military for their efforts in fighting the Boko Haram and expressed optimism that the search for the abducted girls would soon yield dividends.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reported that each of the 215 Parents was given cash of N139,000.

Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Pauline Tallen, a former deputy governor of Plateau State said the
gesture was goodwill from the wife of the president to the parents.
“This is a goodwill support from Her Excellency, Mrs Muhammadu Buhari to the parents of the abducted girls.

“We appeal to them to put the money into proper use, either by investing it in farming or any other business venture,’’ Tallen said.
On April 14, 2014 about 219 GSS Chibok were abducted by Boko Haram while writing their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) in the school.

  15. I don't see how the parents of the chibok girls need the money whether ad a form of compensation or support. All they need is their kids. Giving them money makes no difference in their lives.....

Meanwhile the money was money donated in her book launch for those asking how she got the money.... 😄

  16. I'm guessing this money is from her supposed rich parents? Her book launch? The job she held previously before she became first lady? Or the donations to her husband when he had no funds to campaign back then? These people are all thieves. By voting buhari in,Nigerians simply swapped one evil for a much greater, much more clueless, and an even more unsympathetic evil.

  17. The money from that book launch will not finish until she writes another book or her husband's second term in office.
