If it's my finace or wife, then it's a different ball game entirely coz then it becomes my responsibity to provide, support and care for her in any way that I can. My point is, I can decide to be providing for my GF's needs but it's not my responsibity. And not providing doesn't mean I'm stingy. DeleteI for one, am not comfortable with collecting money/gifts from someone I like. I guess I'm usually shy collecting gifts/money. The guys I have dated find it really frustrating.
The straw that broke the camel's back for a guy I dated was when I was with him, I bought bottle water and I was going to pay myself. He was like "seriously?, so you expect me to be here and you'll pay for the bottle water?" I was going to argue and say "don't bother" but I just gave up on it.
...but now, for what it's worth, I have tried to loosen up. If I enter a bus with you, and you want to pay, pay! I have learnt not to argue.

If we go out, I expect the guy to pay for whatever because I am woman enough to know that I am supposed to be pampered and treated well. I won't offer to pay but I could never ask a guy to give me money for anything.

Also my experience I had with an ex bf I tried to rekindle with: dude got used to me using my money to fix things in the house I didn't bother asking if he doesn't reimburse. I let it slide. I had accommodation issues so I decided he could house me for two months. And I was BROKE. I even asked 500 naira to cook soup so he eats when he gets back from work but he will rather chew dry bread when he gets back all because I did not have sex with him. Then it struck me, a man will with hold cash when he isn't getting sex then why should I consider him when he doesn't provide?
