I can so relate to all of this! I was young and foolish and I made idiotic mistakes. I ended up getting pregnant for a very prominent man in society whose name you'd be shocked to hear if I mention it. When I told him, he tried to get me to abort it, I refused. He started ignoring me, telling people (including my family members) that I was a whore, I was cheap, he didn't get me pregnant, etc. Even after a DNA test came out positive, he wouldn't acknowledge me or my baby boy and his wife even sent thugs to beat me and my mother up.
That is when I learnt three very important lessons
1. Give your life to Christ
2. Apart from God, trust no one else
3. Run as far away from married men as you can, no matter how poor and in need you are
I gave my life to Christ and became a changed person. I work two jobs to feed my son and family and I am proud to say, I HAVE NEVER ASKED FOR A DIME FROM ANYBODY. Its been 4 years and I have never set eyes or heard a word from his dad or anyone related to him. Is it hard being a single mother? HELL YES! But when my boy comes first in class, when people comment on what a well-behaved, intelligent and cute little boy he is, I know he's worth it and I'm motivated to work harder!
Moral of my long epistle? Single moms, STOP BEGGING YOUR BABY DADDIES TO BE A PART OF YOUR CHILDREN'S LIVES! If he doesn't want to be a father, LET HIM BE! It's his loss! The Lord is Your Strength: Rely on HIM ALONE and HE WILL DELIVER! You DO NOT need your child's father to raise a good kid!
