The embattled former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has declared Monday’s Governorship Primaries in Edo State illegal.
He said the exercise was conducted by an illegal caretaker committee.
Sheriff, therefore, called on members of the party, especially in Edo State, to disregard the election.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, signed by the National Chairman and the National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, Shettif’s faction urged INEC not to give legitimacy to what happened in Edo.
It said that the party was going to conduct a proper primary in the state.
In another statement, the National Chairman warned state Chairmen and officers of the party to desist from meeting or having anything with the illegal Caretaker committee, adding that anybody dealing with them was on his own.
Sheriff also announced the appointment of some deputy national Officers, as members of the National Working Committee in acting capacity.
The party said that it was acting in pursuant to a resignation of five (5) members of NWC and in accordance with the provisions of sections 39(2), 42 (2), 43 (2), 44 (2) and 47 (6) of the Constitution of the party 2012 as amended.
The newly appointed officers are: Mr. Okey Nnadozie – Acting National Organizing Secretary, Mr. Alonge-Niyi Dennis –Acting National Youth Leader, Mrs. Hannatu Ullam –Acting National Women Leader and Barrister Bashir Maidugu –Acting National Legal Adviser. The appointment, he said, was with immediate effect.

APC are scared of Pastor Ize iyamu's victory as PDP Flag bearer. Even if Ize iyamu's use defunct ANPP ,he will win. Who go bet? I knew that fool Amodu sheriff was working for ASSOCIATION OF PRESENT CRIMINALS ( APC).
