SAGE Nigeria signs MoU with Federal Government of Nigeria

SAGE Nigeria has signed an MoU with the Federal Government of Nigeria to deliver Entrepreneurship and Community Service Education in Primary and Secondary schools across Nigeria.

The programme tagged National School Entrepreneurship Programme(N-SEP) is set to provide access to functional and hands-on entrepreneurship and community service education to every primary and secondary school student in Nigeria so as to eliminate poverty, conflicts and massive youth unemployment. It will create a network of leaders who will see the challenges in their communities as their responsibilities

260,000 pupils will be directly impacted in the first year as they create over 2,600 micro businesses and community service projects. Over 5,000 teachers will be trained on how to deliver hands-on entrepreneurship and community service education to students in primary and secondary schools.

Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda - Director General/Chief Executive Officer of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) said that NSEP is set to facilitate the culture of entrepreneurship and stimulate students towards job creation rather than job seeking as they create micro businesses in their various communities.

According to Agwu Amogu President/CEO SAGE Africa, NSEP will help to identify potentials of young people early enough and help them develop it; it will channel the energy of youths to positive and productive ends as they are prepared for the challenges of business leadership and civic responsiveness”
SAGE –Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship is an international programme initiated at the California State University Chico USA and currently operating in all continents of the world.

SAGE creates better futures through business entrepreneurship, social enterprise and community service. Young people (including primary and secondary school students) use their school learning to become self-reliant, create wealth, and help others. These SAGE students are linked with university mentors and business advisory board members to provide guidance and/or experience in the completion of business and social ventures to improve their communities.
