    2. The students are taking advantage of the school management. How can you come to school as a new student and not pay fees.

I just called a cousin of mine now and she said they allowed old students to write but refused the new students.

Most of these students were given fees but they spent it on other things because the useless Idogho(former rector) government allowed student write exam without fees.

In my school then, if you don't pay fees you can't write exam and no one complained.

The only one wey dey pain me na my cousin wey get restaurant for campus wey don cook and the food waste.

      RIP to the dead.

    3. Half payment should "have" been allowed for 1st semester

    4. It is absolutely wrong for any student to even start a fresh semester without paying school fees. It is evil to engage in riots because you haven't paid your fees.
Can you go to the market and just take goods and then say you will pay later when you finish growing?
Most Nigerians have this greedy, selfish and stupid attitude of claiming the right of reaping what they didn't sow and that is why Nigerians will keep suffering!
Those lecturers that you are holding their money, where do you expect them to get the money they will use and feed their children?
It is easy for you lot to come and preach times are hard bla bla bla, how many of you can sell things on indefinite credit.
The school should now wait until the students graduate and start working before they pay school fees? I think this fraud should be criminalised. We will never go forward!
Can you go to an airline and preach to them about hard times and they will let you fly on credit?
Can you go to school abroad without even paying your school fees before you apply for VISA? Don't they also know that times are hard.
I don't even have any RIP to say to anyone.
If you don't have money, defer your admission! Even abroad, people defer until they have enough money.
You cannot eat your cake and have it. This is the same attitude they give, you use a hospital facility, when it's time to pay they will start looking for stories and lies just to evade 2k and tomorrow you will come back to the same place and expect them to treat you nice.

    5. Is it not crazy that people like Jasmine will now come to this blog and be challenging people that went to the best universities in the world?
Even at the lowest level of tertiary institution, they still cannot pay their tuition.
Just wow! Well,i really do not expect you all to see any reason to pay for education.
Ibos have a saying that "adi agbalu aka azo ani" meaning that you cannot go on a land dispute empty handed.

You won't pay your school fees but you have money to buy data that you will use and be stalking gossips online. How many times has your service provider given you data bundle on credit so that you can pay back later?
This is why you students will never get anything good out of school, when you don't pay school fees, you don't take school seriously like you take social media.
Go and pay your fees, you shameless lot. If you are broke, go home!

    2. I stand with the school authority. No FEES no EXAMS. Stupid students, where do they expect the school to get the money they will use and print exam papers and pay invigilators from?
They are very stupid. Even in Ghana, you can't even start new semester if you didn't pay your fees before the school resumes.

Let them keep dying! I just hope it is those ones that are rioting that died. Nonsense.

They should allow them write exams, so that they will go to the individual lecturers and pay 2k to see their results.

  8. Just verified that the students are on riot because of the management NO SCHOOL FEES NO EXAM policy. Those that have not paid their school fees were not allowed to enter the exam hall hence the riot.

    2. Any student that didn't pay fees before the exams doesn't deserve to write the exams.
A semester is roughly 3 months and that is enough for every serious student to pay up. Where will the school get money to run the campus, pay staff, pay for exam scripts, answer booklets, pay invigilators and the lecturers that will mark (they pay per scripts).
Exam fee is part of school fees, you didn't pay but you want to write exams ontop of whose money? So that next semester the mumu students that paid before will now refuse to pay.

If the former VC allowed,it, then he is incompetent and would have never been able to improve anything in the school.
You have no reason not to pay ypur fees.
I only blame the school for allowing owing students to even attend lectures.
Go and ask Uniport students how far? You must pay the fees and pay extra for disturbing the school and damaging things.

You all want change, yet you keep resisting change. You want Nigeria to be good, like "ABROAD" yet you will not comply by the same way things are done abroad.
You want everything to be free.
EDUCATION IS NOT CHEAP. If you can't afford it, learn a trade.

    3. Uniport students are still at home. Wasting their time. Lecturers are still getting paid, when they are ready to call back the students. They will all pay thru their anus.

    4. See how silly you sound, Jasmine! You think it's okay to attend school without payment? Are you lots on scholarship? Or how is the school supposed to fund itself for basic stuff you same lot will need, if theres no water, light or security, you all will still complain.

The problem here is priority. You will rather buy clothes, bags and post pictures on instagram, have data to stay on blogs and fight but you see it as less important to pay school fees.
Most of the students complaining will never take 2 weeks to replace their phones if it's lost. They will keep starving themselves and making so much effort to replace it, yet they will never have such attitude to school fees if they are without penalties.
If you don't have money, go back home and hawk bread.
Money is not easy to come by, will you now go to British airways and protest that you must be allowed to fly to Britain without paying? What's the difference?

Please if you can afford a private uni e.g Babcock, Covenant, Afe...Dass all.send your children there and sleep in peace everyday. See what students have to go through because of education. Cultism, A is for God, 30k for seminar, 7k for sorting, open yansh syndrome, psychological trauma, bla bla bla.

You rarely hear of all these in a private uni. This is just so sad.

Proudly glorified secondary school. Who federal/government/state school epp??

The new mgt should tamper mercy on justice and allow all students to write their 1st semester exam. The ''No School fees, no exam''policy should be for 2nd semester as usual, cos a vast majority of the students are from a very poor home and don't find it easy to pay fees, feed or buy textbooks.
Philippi Idogho is the best rector that school has ever had. She deserves a federal appointment. Many staff now hate her due to some allegations that the students don't even want to care about.
The school is the Best polytechnic in Nigeria, the most Lively polytechnic too, but u must not let social activities carry u away.
Students still fail anyhow like water there cos ur CGPA must be above 2.0 if u must proceed to the next level.
Is it night reading where some will sleep from 8pm till 5:30am, others will be disturbing the whole class while only few ones do the reading.
But what I hate about AP is the Master-slave relationship btw lecturers and students.
I love love and love Auchi Poly.

    5. Oscar, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the new policy of no fees, no exams. How do you want the human beings running the school to manage for 1year until second semester ends without students paying?
Yet when there is no light and water, the same students who are owing the school will protest.
Please pay as you go or go back to your house and stay and let the ones who can pay go to school.
It is not a do or die affair. That is why there are scholarships, bursaries, grants, fellowships etc go an hustle for one before going to school.
If you don't have money, you go and beg, dialogue with the school and if they refuse, you have no RIGHT to even make noise.
Take them to court if you think you are right and sue them for damages.
Can you tell me why the students who haven't paid will not come together and get a lawyer and sue the school? The reason is simple, you all know that it is all shades of wrong.
BTW,i heard OKO polytechnic is the best federal polytechnic in Nigeria.

  15. All these students never learn.

How on earth will you expect to write exams without paying your school fees?

    For what?

Are the lecturers paid with leaves, or water?

Whose business is it that you can't afford the school fees?

Imagine if every student comes out to say that they can't afford the school fees. That will the end of teaching and learning na.

If you can't afford to be paying your fees, go and hustle for it, or go learn a trade, make money, and go back to school later.

Not every time students will be rioting because they failed to do what they should have done, and what they know is the right thing.

And the worst part is that lives and property are usually lost during any of these madness.

Oh, plus academic activities are halted for a while, delaying people's year of graduation.

    Pfffttt!

    Lawlessness in every sector.

And they'll have the guts to start protesting o.

Jasmine, oh well, maybe that's how it's been working in your institution, but when I was in uni, if you fail to pay your fees till a certain time, you'll get 10k added to it, and that's in first semester o.
And during every exam, you must go into the hall with your bank printout and school fees receipt.

I never saw anyone protesting. Those that didn't have any option usually deferred till the next session.

I hope you know that this rioting will not make them allow y'all to write you exams without paying your school fees.

    8. ..and the money the govt uses to pay the lectures comes from where? The toilet abi?

The No money syndrome is not affecting the university too? They have immunity against the economy or they are not part of Nigeria?
When will you all move past this SELFISHness? All you think is about yourself, yourself and yourself.
...and for your information, the govern$ent only give the school a small percentage of funds to run the school. during the past administration, in a bid to stop incessant strikes, the govt and schools had an agreement that the school should run itself and pay the govt tax. Go and finish your course before you enter an argument that is beyond your mental status.
Let me ask you a question, Is Education a do or die affair? Is it a crime if you decide to stay at home until you have money to pay fees? Why don't you go on the streets and beg for your school fees?
Finally, tell me how many things you will get on credit in Nigeria now?
