President Buhari Appoints Ibrahim Kpotun Idris As New IG Of Police

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Kpotun Idris as acting inspector-general of police.  Idris succeeds Solomon Arase, who retired on Tuesday after clocking the mandatory age of 60 years.

The acting IG was in charge of operations at the force headquarters in  Abuja.  An indigene of Niger state, Idris obtained a degree in law from the University of Maiduguri. He enlisted in the police as a cadet ASP in 1984 and rose through the ranks.

    2. Jonathan is from the Niger Delta, okonjo iweala is from the ND, diezeani is from the ND and Emefiele is from the ND but that's not nepotism. Nobody really complained that some of the most powerful positions in Nigeria were handed to people from ONE REGION because all we want is for naija to work but you guys steadily complain about some positions being shared amongst several regions.

There's the north central, North East and North West. The ministers of finance and power are from the south west and the petroleum minister is from the south south. Not to talk of the CBN governor who's also from the SS and hasn't been changed despite calls for his head. Should the north now complain that the south have more powerful positions or are SW, SE and SS different but the NC, NE and NW are the same?

    1. You'll do well to go beyond your backyard and learn about your country and it's diversity. There's are over 391 tribes in nigeria and more than half are from the north. Just because you understand hausa, that doesn't make you hausa same way speaking french doesn't mean you're from France. A lot of people in the north central don't even speak hausa for your information.

But going by your logic everybody in South is yoruba or igbo since they're the most dominant languages
