Polyglot Kids!

I just discovered that my Kids can speak other Languages apart from English and German and Pidgin..*Including waffy Pidgin*

Yesterday i heard them interchanging and making comments in Yoruba,Igbo and Isoko and deep Pigdin and they Understood what they were saying to each other....

One said ''ogini bu ifa...''

The other one replied ''hian, kini gbogbo eleyi, abeg no ask me na..''

I FAINTED !!!

And if you call me and they discover you are Waffy, they salute ''Migwor or digwor'' over the phone and even ask ''how e go be nau''

I learn Languages easily and i guess they picked it up....I am so proud ..so so proud!!!.#proudMama

Does anyone have Bilingual or polyglot kids here?

Please oh polyglot means speaking more than three Languages oh,before una go think say na cuss oh..LOL.

I have been sitting down all day,off to do some reality stuff and will be back to enable comments......*wink*

Igbo is our identity, you people should teach them how to speak, stop teaching them those local English you speak thinking it will make them belong. Burunu ezigbo nwafor igbo.

I pray make to marry a man that learns language fast.

    2. I hate it when igbo people can't speak their own language. It's annoying. That's only area I see Yoruba people are better than us

    3. Hausas and yorubas can NEVER struggle to speak their language no matter how highly educated and widely travelled. But ndi igbo? Make the person just leave village to highest Lagos and return, no more igbo speaking.

By the way Stelz ur kids re smart. Fluent in hausa, english n my mother tongue igbo. Understands yoruba, a little of Tv.

    4. Trinity and Rosblis, you know this.

I have an Igbo friend, who before I met, didn't know how to speak Igbo, and wasn't bothered. The thing vexed me so much that I started teasing him at every opportunity, till he made me teach him.

Though I think he's not keen on languages because he went to uni in Russia, but can hardly speak a smattering of Russian.

That's a little understandable, but not when you don't know how to speak your OWN language.

I think it's only in Igbo land that some people think it's local to be caught speaking Igbo.
Can remember a BV here saying that she'll not allow her children to speak Igbo...lol!

Ndi be anyi, ekele m unu o.
Very soon, na torchlight we go use dey find Igbo language.

Business wise...Spanish. The whole Latino countries speak Spanish and you can enter and mingle in too many places. French is limited.

Then apart from those, took an interest in Spanish a while ago, and wasn't consistent with it. Just a few sentences here and there.

French ; same thing. Learnt that one in college.

I know very few words in German especially the cuss words eg: dummkopf...hehehe. Stellz, teach me na. * side eyes *

As for Yoruba, being on this blog is enough for you to know a little, as long as you have someone to translate it.

  30. Yes o. I run on 6 languages(English, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, French, Spanish) now trying to make German the 7th but it is harrrrrrrd.

The good thing is when in a social gathering we switch to a foreign language especially to pass orders about conduct and security leaving people around to their imaginations.

DH is on 8 and he can speak to you at anytime with any. The schools make it easy and at home they watch many of the cable TV stations and films in foreign language.

Rien de tel que parler la langue d'un autre homme non?

That's the same way Trinity's parents, siblings and relations are feeling about her right now. A feeling of disappointment and disgrace.
