According to Punch News, the ladies were having fun on the beach when they were swept away by strong tides, which carried them into the Atlantic Ocean.

private hospitals which rejected them.
One of them died before getting to the Lagos Island General Hospital. Only Bolu the third ,survived.

    1. Even construction sites have Emergency medical unit.
Beaches are places where unforeseen emergencies can happen.
What do they do with the money they charge people that enter there? All they need is probably two doctors and atleast 5nurses with a caravan sick bay .
An average Nigerian is corrupt and selfish. If there was an emergency response team to atleast offer a CPR immediately, all 3 of them would have survived.
I am sad because it is a very simple thing, our disregard for human life is alarming.
Chop alone syndrome! They would have calculated that paying a doctor will be a waste afterall commoners have been drowning there and no big deal.
Now,someone that knows someone is dead and thats when action will now take place.
The question is, must someone die before things are done the way it should be done?
I hope they face the wrath of the law because they make so much money there and they should be held accountable.
Everyone will be calling Buhari, yet in that small place you are,you cannot even do one good thing, just one.
Some idiots will still ask why they are arrestedm

    2. They didn't enter water. Please be sensitive. They backed the water to take pictures, and that was when the water came.

    3. Anon 9.00, people like you make being a nigerian really frustrating. Every organisation has a duty of protection for its customers. Every safety requirement should be in place at all times the place is in use to avoid untimely death such as this one dt happened. A lot of lives could be saved if all health and safety requirements are always in place. But you wouldnt understand anyway. No pun intended.

  3. This is Nigeria so if you're waiting for a lifeguard to save you when you foolishly enter water you no sabi swim, you're a gonner. RIP

You will die a slow painful death, help will be right in front of you but no one will come to your rescue. You are a very stupid idiot that doesn't deserve to be alive.

  4. Life guards and emergency units, should be secondary to basic swimming safety skills.

There was probably a rip tide, and they tried swimming against the current instead of to the side of it,and of course, tired out.

Another thing is to lie on one's back and look at the sky while floating to the side. Will distract you from panicking and seeing yourself being dragged inwards.

Just go with the flow. You won't be pulled under, these tides are just channels of flowing water. It's when you fight it that it takes you with it.

Unfortunately, rip tides don't care if you're a very strong swimmer, or a huge adult.

Just swim parallel to the current, if you notice it in time, or float facing upwards in it, if you don't.
It will surely dissipate, and then, you can swim to shore, or call for help.

People need to be armed with swimming education, before taking a dip in any body of water.

Predictably, those guys will be released, and life will go on.

I don't know why important things are always overlooked in this country. No life guards or emergency unit, on a frigging beach!

May their souls rest in peace.

    7. White diamond. If you meet a turbulent water, hurricane etc ain't no current to swim parallel or perpendicular to.
Do you also know that the waves can hit you to unconsciousness and dats why people that dive target the waves and know when to dive?
They were caught unawares and might have been unconscious in an instant.

    8. Nice one white Diamond abi na Black Diamond kikikikikiki

Seriously people shouldn't play with water, even if u'r in a pool, ask for floater or life vest
We should also learn some basic 1st aid it's good,

If someone was able to pull them out of water n a proper CPR
      The story would've change

    9. Anon 13:06, true.

But what if you're not unconscious, and are caught in a rip tide?

      Exactly!

That's the reason I posted that.

    1. You will just bring them and keep and be looking at when when you don't have light or a working ICU.
Most people are now playing safe because of the way some stupid people have come to social media to destroy the people that helped them survive. Money for hand before anything.
      It is a sad situation.

    1. What do they do with all that money? Plus they charge for you to use any corner in the beach.
They will also charge the people selling things there.
Nigerians are just too greedy, yet they will be among the people that will still want free education and free transport and free everything.
Yet you cannot even do the needful to safeguard the lives of the people giving you all the money.

  10. 2 persons died whether by their own fault or not, the fact remains they died...we should be sending out condolences. why are some of us blaming people that are dead (luke 13:14)...what if it was your sister, or daugther, or aunt, or mother would you have the heart to talk that way...some of us that sound this way either have never lost a loved one or are just plain cold hearted (i pity you). Visit a morgue today and let your heart be humbled.

    1. Please don't mind them, some of them are dead men walking. It shows how cruel and how we have disregard for human life in this country.
I keep telling people to be the change they seek. I just pity the president that is presiding over a group that majority are animals.
When you even listen to how people sit down to critisize someone that is 100 times better than them, you will think they are saints. Yet,give them a small post and see how the monster they will become.

  11. What they shld do is close down those hospitals that reject ppl.
Is it brain surgery they told them to perform.
If you cant accept genuine medical emergencies, why are you in biz.
Just to hand out anti-malaria, if you don't have capable hands den lock up, so ppl don't bother bringn emergency to u and wasting precious time of ppl close to death.

  12. They also need Emergency units and life guards at dese beaches as rightly stated.
Even abroad ppl die in drowning at d beach, but atlst that is after life guard and emergency units have done their best.
Dis one dey just collect 1k and who is it paid to. The youth in d area, local govt or is it Oba Elegushi. I dunno which ?

  13. Arrest them for what? Nigerians are the stupid ones....you go to a place where you know have no emergency rescue and you enter the water whose fault? If it was a rip tide can you predict it? People should use their sense....if you can't swim stay away from the beach, and even if you go stay far from the water cos if there is any emergency then u are oyo......I only feel comfortable at the beach when am abroad
