*Note that The two ladies reportedly lost their lives at Elegushi Beach because there was no life guard or an emergency medical unit.
It is sad though. They are dead already
ReplyDeleteEven construction sites have Emergency medical unit.
DeleteBeaches are places where unforeseen emergencies can happen.
What do they do with the money they charge people that enter there? All they need is probably two doctors and atleast 5nurses with a caravan sick bay .
An average Nigerian is corrupt and selfish. If there was an emergency response team to atleast offer a CPR immediately, all 3 of them would have survived.
I am sad because it is a very simple thing, our disregard for human life is alarming.
Chop alone syndrome! They would have calculated that paying a doctor will be a waste afterall commoners have been drowning there and no big deal.
Now,someone that knows someone is dead and thats when action will now take place.
The question is, must someone die before things are done the way it should be done?
I hope they face the wrath of the law because they make so much money there and they should be held accountable.
Everyone will be calling Buhari, yet in that small place you are,you cannot even do one good thing, just one.
Some idiots will still ask why they are arrestedm
Very sad indeed....and they are both besties.....The other lady was trying to rescue the other one..not knowing that they will both died
Delete@Galore
They should also arrest that nigga Oba Elegushi. Shebi na him dem dey deliver to.
DeleteThieves!
@galore RIP to your english
DeleteI don't get why they're being arrested?? Abi them put sumthg inside the girls their drink??
ReplyDeleteFly wey say e no de hear word.....
Pls they shld let the family mourn in peace jo, theyr adults and shld be held accountabl for their actions.
Get an education and learn to READ.
DeleteWhat you don't know is right there in the article...you seem a bit thick so i'll help you.
1. No life guards
2. No emergency medical units
Mourn in peace you say? Ok...this will probably save the someone you love from danger in future.
They are adults yea,,,accidents happen the world over and life guards are ALWAYS on standby.
I love you too!
They didn't enter water. Please be sensitive. They backed the water to take pictures, and that was when the water came.
DeleteAnon 9.00, people like you make being a nigerian really frustrating. Every organisation has a duty of protection for its customers. Every safety requirement should be in place at all times the place is in use to avoid untimely death such as this one dt happened. A lot of lives could be saved if all health and safety requirements are always in place. But you wouldnt understand anyway. No pun intended.
DeleteThis is Nigeria so if you're waiting for a lifeguard to save you when you foolishly enter water you no sabi swim, you're a gonner. RIP
ReplyDeleteBoo hoo! No one is a gonner pray this don't happen to someone you know INSENSITIVE PRICK
DeleteBe sensitive. They didn't enter water.
DeleteEyah. RIP anyway
DeleteSnarky, I will not waste a RIP for you.
DeleteYou will die a slow painful death, help will be right in front of you but no one will come to your rescue. You are a very stupid idiot that doesn't deserve to be alive.
Another bipolar patient on the lose. I wish the same to you, your miserable family, your cursed children, your doomed generation and anyone that comes in contact with you :) Unfortunate being.
DeletePls Stella, if you can post his/her comment, let me not look for mine.
Rip girls
ReplyDeleteSo sad...
Life guards and emergency units, should be secondary to basic swimming safety skills.
ReplyDeleteThere was probably a rip tide, and they tried swimming against the current instead of to the side of it,and of course, tired out.
Another thing is to lie on one's back and look at the sky while floating to the side. Will distract you from panicking and seeing yourself being dragged inwards.
Just go with the flow. You won't be pulled under, these tides are just channels of flowing water. It's when you fight it that it takes you with it.
Unfortunately, rip tides don't care if you're a very strong swimmer, or a huge adult.
Just swim parallel to the current, if you notice it in time, or float facing upwards in it, if you don't.
It will surely dissipate, and then, you can swim to shore, or call for help.
People need to be armed with swimming education, before taking a dip in any body of water.
Predictably, those guys will be released, and life will go on.
I don't know why important things are always overlooked in this country. No life guards or emergency unit, on a frigging beach!
May their souls rest in peace.

Tanks for the enlightenment.
DeleteCC: Snarky this should enlighten you a bit
DeleteShey you well ni? Your comments always longer than post. Tueh
DeleteGood info. I swim in the ocean but still get scared every once in a while. I hope I am never in that situation but if I am that I remember parallel.
DeleteUkbliss, Anon 11:26, you're welcome dears.
Delete#WhiteDiamondOut
Anonymous 11:23, that comment above is for ppl like you who are very ignorant so pls take it serious.
DeleteWhite diamond. If you meet a turbulent water, hurricane etc ain't no current to swim parallel or perpendicular to.
DeleteDo you also know that the waves can hit you to unconsciousness and dats why people that dive target the waves and know when to dive?
They were caught unawares and might have been unconscious in an instant.
Nice one white Diamond abi na Black Diamond kikikikikiki
DeleteSeriously people shouldn't play with water, even if u'r in a pool, ask for floater or life vest
We should also learn some basic 1st aid it's good,
If someone was able to pull them out of water n a proper CPR
The story would've change
Anon 13:06, true.
DeleteBut what if you're not unconscious, and are caught in a rip tide?
Exactly!
That's the reason I posted that.
#WhiteDiamondOut
Quite enlightening.
DeleteThanks Whitey!
Very good but the hospital no try too. You see people at the point of death you refuse to attend to them. For humanity sake let's be nice.
ReplyDeleteYou will just bring them and keep and be looking at when when you don't have light or a working ICU.
DeleteMost people are now playing safe because of the way some stupid people have come to social media to destroy the people that helped them survive. Money for hand before anything.
It is a sad situation.
This same beach I planned to attend. Thank you Jesus
ReplyDeleteThis Elugushi beach that before you enter they must collect N1,000.oo no matter how many una be. I am sure say them dey collect from children self.
ReplyDeleteGood they have been arrested. Idiots. Only money they know.
The ladies that died mamiwater don welcome una. Una go find trouble for that water that they never do sacrifice for.
May God still comfort your families. Just painful. Idont want to think of the questions of WHY, WHY, WHY
What do they do with all that money? Plus they charge for you to use any corner in the beach.
DeleteThey will also charge the people selling things there.
Nigerians are just too greedy, yet they will be among the people that will still want free education and free transport and free everything.
Yet you cannot even do the needful to safeguard the lives of the people giving you all the money.
Rip to the young ladies.
ReplyDeleteSo what happened to going to Oriental or four point s to swim? Or is the water different. I am hydrophobic so forgive me if I do not understand such carelessness. RIP
ReplyDeletemay their soul rest in peace
ReplyDelete2 persons died whether by their own fault or not, the fact remains they died...we should be sending out condolences. why are some of us blaming people that are dead (luke 13:14)...what if it was your sister, or daugther, or aunt, or mother would you have the heart to talk that way...some of us that sound this way either have never lost a loved one or are just plain cold hearted (i pity you). Visit a morgue today and let your heart be humbled.
ReplyDeletePlease don't mind them, some of them are dead men walking. It shows how cruel and how we have disregard for human life in this country.
DeleteI keep telling people to be the change they seek. I just pity the president that is presiding over a group that majority are animals.
When you even listen to how people sit down to critisize someone that is 100 times better than them, you will think they are saints. Yet,give them a small post and see how the monster they will become.
What they shld do is close down those hospitals that reject ppl.
ReplyDeleteIs it brain surgery they told them to perform.
If you cant accept genuine medical emergencies, why are you in biz.
Just to hand out anti-malaria, if you don't have capable hands den lock up, so ppl don't bother bringn emergency to u and wasting precious time of ppl close to death.
They also need Emergency units and life guards at dese beaches as rightly stated.
ReplyDeleteEven abroad ppl die in drowning at d beach, but atlst that is after life guard and emergency units have done their best.
Dis one dey just collect 1k and who is it paid to. The youth in d area, local govt or is it Oba Elegushi. I dunno which ?
Arrest them for what? Nigerians are the stupid ones....you go to a place where you know have no emergency rescue and you enter the water whose fault? If it was a rip tide can you predict it? People should use their sense....if you can't swim stay away from the beach, and even if you go stay far from the water cos if there is any emergency then u are oyo......I only feel comfortable at the beach when am abroad
ReplyDeleteFool! It happens abroad too
