1. The ongoing crisis in the NFF took a different turn of Friday as the Chris Giwa-led faction of the football body attempted to take over the headquarters of the body in Abuja after thugs believed to be loyal to Giwa, stormed the Glass House and tried to gain access to the offices. They were, however, resisted by the staff who were on seat...This Chris Giwa should rest and leave this thing for Pinnick!..haba!
2. Following the latest attack on its pipeline by the Niger Delta Avengers, , Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, operator of the SPDC JV, has confirmed signs of leakage on the 48inch Forcados export pipeline at a location between shoreline and the Forcados terminal in the western Niger Delta. The company however said it was yet to determine the overall impact of the attack on the facilities.
3. A former Commander of Guards Brigade and erstwhile Commander of the Joint Military Task Force, OPERATION PULO SHIELD, Major General Emmanuel Atewe was on Friday arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi on an 11-count charge bordering on conspiracy, abuse of office and money laundering. He was charged alongside a former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NMASA, Patrick Ziadeke Akpobolokemi; Kime Engozu and Josphine Otuaga. They allegedly conspired among themselves to divert over N8billion paid into the account of the Joint Military Task Force by NIMASA.
4. Report has it that former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, had a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday to address the rising spate of attacks in the Niger Delta as well the long awaited looters’ list. Details of the meeting has not been made public yet....#whistleblower things.
5. An Osun State High Court on Friday ruled that Muslim female students in public primary and secondary schools in the state were now free to wear Hijab in their schools. Justice Jide Falola, while delivering judgment in a case filed by the Osun State Muslim Community against the state government, said that wearing of Hijab was part of the fundamental rights of Muslims’ female pupils.
6. Boxing legend, Muhammad Ali is dead. Ali who died at the age of 74 reportedly suffered a respiratory disease and had been admitted at the Phoenix hospital, Arizona, prior to his death. A statement by the family confirmed his death.
7. Embattled former Aviation Minister, Chief Fani Kayode, has cried out over his continued detention by the EFCC, despite having allegedly met his bail condition. A statement signed yesterday by his Media Assistant, Jude Ndukwe and made available to Journalists in Abuja dismissed media reports that FFK was yet to meet his bail condition.- Eyaaaa,they should allow him access to the internet to keep him busy.
8. The Niger Delta Avengers have again warned AGIP not to commence work on any of the blown pipelines in Bayelsa State. The dreaded group, which had claimed responsibility for the various attacks on oil facilities in the Niger Delta region, warned that on no account should anybody commence reconstruction in damaged facilities in the area.
9. The federal government has directed that all banks suspend the on-going retrenchment in the sector pending the outcome of the conciliatory meetings in the industry. The directive was contained in a statement personally signed by Labour Minister, Chris Ngige on Friday....Thank God oh cos i heard a particular Bank was planning mass retrenchment next week oh.
10. President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said fraudsters were looking for a way to swindle the government as they have approached his government for money in order to negotiate the release of the abducted Chibok girls. This was contained in a statement by Femi Adesina, during a meeting with archbishops of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion.

ReplyDeleteI think this Giwa should be arrested and locked in a cell with crazy inmates, so this Avengers can't be curtailed before they turn into full bkien vengeance and start asking for amnesty to travel abroad, rubbish. Rest in perfect peace the beautiful butterfly

ReplyDeleteWe have news but they are all negative news. One can ever hear government or this institution or that institution is employing if not to sack those earning little income. Even if they are not "fully employed" why not upgrade them. Let us also think positively.
