Minister of Transport and former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has said that immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan, clearly turned his deaf ears to the plight of the Ogoni people and the Niger Delta in general.
Amaechi, who in his address at the flag-off of the implementation of the UNEC report on Ogoniland acknowledged the presence of his successor, Nyesom Wike, lamented that he did everything within his power as a governor to make Jonathan implement the UNEC report on Ogoniland.
He said, “We did everything possible as a sitting government to make the president implement the UNEC report, everything. But the report was not implemented after all.”
Amaechi noted that the 1b dollar clean up exercise would create jobs for the people of the region.
He, however, thanked the President Buhari -led administration for coming to the aid of the Ogoni people and for fulfilling part of his campaign promises of cleaning up the region.

ReplyDeleteAsshole!..
What is this fool saying? Who doesn't know that this bloody traitor sold his people for 30 pieces of shiny silver.
DeleteYou told jonathan to clean up what? When you were busy frolicking with the enemy, I doubt your blood vessels in your brain were circulating enough to know that the Ogonis were suffering.
Now will you run along you Judas Iscariot!
Traitor!
Thunder fire that your wide gutter mouth there..ewu nama..Stella who told you he acknowledged the presence of the governor..i was there o..i no hear nothing about acknowledgment o..even the youths sitting close to me noticed it and called him a disrespectful and unforgiving bigot..he go dey call Jonathan like say dem be mate..with his cocaine eyes
ReplyDeleteAnon 16.21, if you were truly there as you claimed then you were either distracted when he started his speech or you're simply being mischievous. I was not there but channels TV reported the event live and I watched it.
DeleteThe next person Amaechi greeted after the President was the Rivers state governor who was the host of the event. He also did not call Jonathan by his 1st name like that, he referred to him in his speech a 'the former President'.
The above can be confirmed on channels TV website or you can Google it.
Let's not spread falsehood and hatred because of political or ethnic considerations
Stella, tell your boo to sharrap!
ReplyDeletebut the Rtd Gen. was afraid of Niger Delta militants and he avoided the occasion.
ReplyDeleteThe last time a sitting president succumbed to the threat was in November 2014 when ex-President Goodluck Jonathan suspended his planned visit to Delta state for the ground breaking ceremony of the $16 billion Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Ogidigben, a community in Itsekiri land.
DeleteThe Ijaw had protested the decision to site the project in another community other than theirs. Rumours had it that Government Ekpemupolo, better known as Tompolo, was behind the cancellation of Jonathan’s visit.
The warlord even allegedly ordered his boys to abduct journalists who went to cover the event.
It's called security
Remove the log in your eyes first Mr. Amaechi, what did you do for your people as Governor???

ReplyDeleteNigerians don't like hearing the truth....Jonathan who is from Nigerdelta could not start this clean up thing. Acknowledge that he failed in that regard, and stop supporting him foolishly. I never thought i'll say this but we south south/south east.....support blindly. I thought it was northerners that support themselves blindly, but no....ours is worse off.
