Happening Now in Port Harcourt...

Please Read this to the end and take a deep breath before you spit fire!...YES,you are allowed to spitfire if you disagree!

''Hello Stella,

Please hide my ID and post. This is happened a few minutes ago at Trans Amadi area of Port Harcourt precisely in front of Halliburton and Schlumberger companies. Both companies (and many others around) did interlocking floors at the front of their offices where staff and visitors park their vehicles.

This morning, some agents of Rivers State government with up to 15 vehicles written Park Control on them stormed Schlumeberger first and started towing cars of workers who were inside their offices in commando style. They later came up to the Halliburton end where they were promptly resisted by Halliburton staff with the company's Mopol team which led to the commotion you can see from the pictures.

They said Halliburton has to pay N41 million before they can use their front space for parking. When they were heavily resisted, they had to leave. I stylishly took the pictures because those guys came with their own Moplol too before dem go mend me ..lol. Meanwhile they have taken some Schlumberger workers cars away (more like car theft because the owners do not even know as yet until they come out) and who knows what those guys will pay before they get back their cars.

Now this road was dualised by the Amaechi administration like many others during his time. The road has walkways and streetlights. All the companies now did interlocking to beautify the remaining areas to their fences. These spaces where marked and demarcated with short iron poles to make sure cars are parked well without any obstruction to the road or walkways. The companies used to pay a token of N1m per annum to government for business parking purposes. TIMARIV has never towed any cars from these places except if you park on the road.

Now Nyesom Wike wants N41 million per annum from Halliburton (and most likely the same amount from all the adjoining companies like Sclumberger, Baker Hughes, Coca Cola etc). Mind you, Wike has appeasing people all these while and calling himself friendly thinking that his election will be nullified and rerun election ordered. Now he has really sit in as governor and his true colors are coming out.

Some people  who have never been to PH are here online crucifying Amaechi but I tell you, PH people are in for a long 4 years. With the current trend of "area boys obtaining" in PH, we are surely back to the dark "matching ground" days when Wike was Obio/Akpor council chairman....... these were the exact words of everyone around during the commotion''.

  22. People always talk trash to get sentiments. So because the cars were towed due to governmental levy they ought to pay, you came here to cause Amachi and Wike fight. You are really on cheap drugs. Riverians need development which will be done with money but u don't want people to pay the money, rather u prefer the TOKEN as stated by you that they pay. Who has used TOKEN to achieve a feat? Stop being unnecessarily sentimental. Criticize with brain. Amechi is a crook compared to Wike. Deal with that.

      Delete
  23. Please poster next time equip yourself with proper information before posting certain things on here.. Wike never directed thugs to come and remove cars from companies parking spaces whether on the road or not , neither is it a government directive that the company should pay up 41million naira. I work in halliburton and i can confidently tell you that this people are thugs under no association.

      Delete
    3. You work in Halliburton and your grammar and punctuation is this bad? You better be working as a cleaner or security guard. what the heck is "come and remove"? The sentence is perfect without that phrase after which a full stop would be in order and not a comma. The use of neither is also wrong as you did not relate the 2nd sentence to the first. For that sentence to make sense you would have to indicate that the payment of 41 million is not a condition to getting the cars released.

      Delete
    4. Thugs under no association? If you live in PH you should hv seem these vehicles boldly written parking control, rivers state board of internal revenue. They are pure agents of govt acting with impunity inside town. Just pray u don't meet them.

  32. I read this post and called my two friends since I am not in town. One in Halliburton Completion and the other in Schlumberger Cementing. They both confirmed the story. Ths slb guy said his colleague whose car was towed has been asked to come for two weeks training and also pay 50K before his car will be released. Pause and imagine you are the one to pay this amount in these hard times just because you came to work and parked where you have been parking for over 15 years. The Halliburton guy said their company received a letter to pay N41m for the parking space and they protested because it was a huge increment from what they used to pay. There believed they were still negotiating with government only for these guys to strike today without warning.

I do not want to get into Amaechi/Wike ish. I believe that sooner or later the bad one will be known. From the pictures I can see the govt vehicles used. I have also seen those vehicle live so anyone saying they are just thugs is lying. They are from govt agencies. Someone said where do they expect govt to get money to work with. Really??? If you have anyone who works in the oil industry, just ask them how much tax they pay monthly which goes to the govt. These companies interlocked these spaces themselves and have also been paying for them. They only said the hike is much, let's negotiate and people are here saying rubbish. This generation is becoming increasingly blinded by sentiments.

To the poster, I see no wrong in what you did. I encourage people to report situations be it in APC or PDP states. That is the power of social media. It can change things. You can menstruate under my comment if you like and I do not care. I read the blog for fun but I just hope you get busy and sort yourself out instead of trolling blogs "fighting" for politicians.

  37. The truth of the matter is that these new guys with yellow paint are the new face of extortion in ph..... It looks like a rebranding of TIMARIV, just that they seem to have more legal/govt backing.. They also came to my office on stadium road to tow cars and they were repelled... There was no communique issued for the whole public to be aware of their operations, they just come out of the blues to tow and impound vehicles....

And for the useless, uninformed and crazy BVs who think this is a political stunt, I am sorry to disappoint you because the reality is that PH is no longer safe, everybody is scampering for safety; Kidnappings, robberies and car snatching everywhere and our governor isn't alarmed... If you drive a clean car, you are already a target....

When I came into town in AMAECHI's regime, you stay out till 11pm, club till 2am but nowadays 8pm is already risky and nobody is saying shit, To confirm this, check PH Twitter space and see complains from different people, some 'bold' radio stations are also talking about it.

This is the change we said we wanted and things will get better based on the work being done in Rivers.
