Oh He is Dead!
Maduekwe was also appointed Culture and Tourism minister by President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999, Minister of Transport in 2001.
As Minister of Transport he got the nick name ‘Ojo oni Keke’ for advocating for the use of bicycles, although critics said that the roads were unsafe for cyclists and Maduekwe himself was pushed into a ditch by a bus while he was cycling to work.
He was National Secretary of the ruling political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Well ain't got a RIP to waste on any politician. I remember the year this man's community cried out when he was minister of transportation. His community said that he was useless to them because the only good road led only to his house which was on a hill or something like that.
ReplyDeletePlease make body come tell me about "you don't talk ill of the dead"...
His community said he was useless to them because they expected him to come and transform their lives overnight and do nothing like the typical Nigerian lazy drone. He was a minister for all of Nigeria not just his community.
DeleteHe was a good, strict yet kind man. His family and other will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace
