That's a professional beggar.
ReplyDeleteThat beggar story is so believable for me.
DeleteMy church held an outdoor crusade once and an handicapped man "seemingly" gave his life to christ. Weeks later, a church member saw him begging at the mega NNPC fuel station in town, so she felt we should help as a church.
The man was approached and it was discovered his leg(which had the handicap issue) could be treated. Guess what?
The man refused to take the church's offer of paying the treatment bill, he asked what would he do after he was healed? The church offered to set him up with a trade afterwards... the man retorted that how much would he be making from the trade that would yield as much profit as he is yielding from begging.
Till now, he is still at that NNPC station begging each day.
There's a beggar at that Oduduwa University in ife roundabout if you are heading to Abuja through Ibadan, it has several bumps( that place where they sell akara), he has no legs, that particular beggar has built a house and has 2 BEAUTIFUL wives! This is not hearsay, I did my NYSC in the town that he lives and his second wife hails from.
Most of these beggars are RICH!
