Doctors In House Section

Huh?

CANKER SORES BROUHAHA
Greetings to U Stellastico.... Am an addicted Being of your blog who couldn't stop reloading for new gist. I also admire your sense of Humour about everything.

I think it will fit in doctor's section.

Am a 27yrs old lady (not a gwegs yet, lol). Am having Canker sores for like 5 years now and its really a problem to me. Doctors keep saying the same thing about it being lack of vitamins. Nwunye Korkus, I have cups of diff vitamins (B,C) and I take oranges and other fruits well.

Even had to change my toothpaste from normal close-up and others to sensodyne(expensive for me but health is wealth, lol) which I read online that it doesn't contain one particular ingredient other minor ones has that contribute to the canker sore.

It keeps coming n going( one will disappear, another comes up). Have even gone to see a Dentist, no solution. Am now living on oranges and vitamins but I really need what to take for it to disappear final.

The pain is something else.

Just imagine the pain you have when you mistakenly bite your tongue and compare it when it will be like four different sores inside your mouth. Have even reduced cos way back in 2012, I fell sick for it cos it was plenty. I did all the necessary tests, both HIV to know if its the cause but it wasn't.

I want to know if there's someone who knows something about it or am I in this alone. Have read I should be managing but i'm not in management science lol.

    5. Seriously this is the answer. Coconut oil. Try oil pulling for a week with coconut oil and your canker sores should clear right up.
In the mean time boost your immune system with regular exercise too. A 30 mins walk 4 times a week is enough

  5. I like your sense of humor.

    To the matter at hand, since you said you have ran tests to check if it's the symptom of another disease and it's not. Let me give you my natural remedy;

There's a plant Yorubas call "Lapalapa"(sorry, don't know what other tribes call it), find it and use to scrub your mouth every morning and night.

Rinse your mouth with charcoal, add a little bit of warm water and use to rinse like you would do after brushing, you could leave for some time too, then spew out.

  6. Add pineapple to ur fruit intake as its a better source of vitamin c.Also start using ORIN,its a local stick used for brushing,it works better than all this toothpaste and can handle ur case. That's the yoruba name as I don't know the English name.

    2. Please don't use pineapple cos it will worsen the situation. I had mine from childhood till I was 17yrs. I have always used close-up toothpaste to brush my teeth and most times I will see 3 to 4 canker soars in my mouth at the samended time. I used potash to no avail,Please be using Macleans paste(the normal one), even pepsodent is a no no. I think it is d Sodium Fluoride or one of the ingredient in paste dat u are reacting to. Ndo, I can feel your pains.

  14. my dear, this shld help.

    What Causes Canker Sores?

The exact cause of most canker sores is unknown. Stress or tissue injury is thought to be the cause of simple canker sores. Certain foods -- including citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemons, oranges, pineapples, apples, figs, tomatoes, and strawberries) -- can trigger a canker sore or make the problem worse. Sometimes a sharp tooth surface or dental appliance, such as braces or ill-fitting dentures, might also trigger canker sores.

Some cases of complex canker sores are caused by an underlying health condition, such as an impaired immune system; nutritional problems, such as vitamin B-12, zinc, folic acid, or iron deficiency; or gastrointestinal tract disease, such as celiac disease or Crohn's disease.

  15. Me think oranges and any citrus fruit will do more damage to the sore than heal it. Am not a doctor ooo just commonsense thinking#

  16. You may have crohn's diseases.

  17. Go and meet Lucile Oil to cure you of everything. The virgin oil will cure the canker sore

  18. Back in uni a friend had a similar situation and she used salt water to gaggle and swish, can't remember the frequency but it did work, try it out nothing to loose.

  19. Baking Soda. Baking soda is an alkaline and will neutralize acids that irritate the canker sore; it also helps kill bacteria to help your sore heal quickly. For relief, try this home remedy: Rinse your mouth with a solution of 1 teaspoon baking soda in 1/2 cup of warm water.

  22. Kindly google treatment for apthous ulcer. See an oral medicine consultant in a teaching hospital

    ReplyDelete
  23. Please be using Macleans toothpaste. The other ones are too harsh to your mouth. I had the same issue but am fyn now but anytime I mistakenly used Oral B, CLOSE UP, pepsodentetc na die I dey. Buy dat normal one.

  24. Stop taking citrus fruits and wash your mouth with fresh tomatoes. When you're done eat the rest. Do it as many times as you can, make eating fresh tomatoes a hobby. You'll never have the sores again. Thank me later.

  25. Hi poster, what you described sounds like recurrent aphthous ulcers, usually triggered by stress (among other things).
Google the condition and possible management if your symptoms match. The next time you visit an oral pathologist/dentist, ask for the possibility of it being aphthous ulcers

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lol. Just saw that someone else gave the same advice I dropped (Google aphthous ulcer and see an oral pathologist, preferrably at a teaching hospital). Happy to see that great minds think alike *covers face*
