CC: LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT
CC: LAGOS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY
Jessica Ugwuoke WROTE:
''Everyday I leave the house for work, I see different forms of child abuse and this breaks my heart. However, this has taken a more serious dimension and can no longer be neglected.
Women who claim to be mothers dress up, take their children and stand at the the junction saying "Nne/Nna please help me. NO FORM OF DISABILITY. What hurts the most is that this children will stand for hours and you see clearly how stressed out and drained they are. They are everywhere in lagos right now; Mile 2, Airport road, Oshodi, you name it.
This is wrong in all its entirety; it's inhuman and it is high time we spoke out against it. A child who goes through this will be greatly affected psychologically; either he/she loses his/her self esteem or start exhibiting deviant behaviours.
Therefore I call on the Lagos state government, the Senate to promulgate a law against any form of child abuse.
This should be taking very seriously and citizens encouraged to report any woman/ man exhibiting such behaviours. I also call on the NGO'S, the social workers to carry out random rounds in different places of the city and fish out anyone who is abusing a child in any form.
These are leaders of tomorrow and if there parents can't protect them; then the government and we all should stand up to protect these children. Let us keep our children safe. SAY NO TO CHILD ABUSE''.
PLEASE SHARE TILL IT GETS TO THE APPROPRIATE BODIES.

DeleteIs ok dat she is talking about it now but dis case has been on high level , der is nothing like is on increase, is upto everybody to put hands together to tackle dis issue not everything government, for me I have stopped depending on nigeria government since I discovered I was born into it.
ReplyDeleteSigns of an ailing economy. Things are really tough. For some pple that's the only way they will be able to eat.
ReplyDeleteyes Pls let's kick against it. #saynotochildabuse
ReplyDeleteI fear what we input into the future as parent. Majority of Parent today believe that ones there is food on the table for their children, they are done! And they don't care what to do or what they use them for to get the money. Check majority of the local bars around, most of the owners make use of their teenagers as waiters. What of those mothers who will tie rapper morning till night, and just gossip about but make there their children who ought to be in pry or secondary school hawk morning and evening. These children are now the bread winners of their homes.
ReplyDeleteStop having children you cannot care for. Stop taking in underage house helps in the name of 'helping' them. Don't be part of the problem.
ReplyDeleteExactly, people should stop having children more than their income only to subject the children to abuse of different kind #saynotochildabuse
DeleteIf you can't train them, do not bring them into this world.
ReplyDeleteIn s much as I don't support child abuse, our economy is tough and the parents alone cannot provide for the family without exposing the child to one form of labour or the other. 70% of Nigerians live below average.
ReplyDeleteGood to know
ReplyDeleteIt cos they are hungry nau, and has no job.
