Let me explain further:
DeleteThe yellow flower is 1; in the penultimate equation, there are TWO flowers (you can see two stalks and two flower heads), which made the equation read as blue flower (5) - TWO yellow flowers (2). That's why the answer to that equation was 3.
So in the last equation, we have only ONE yellow flower, which makes it 1 and NOT 2, as many people are saying.
Ahhhhhhh the blue flower has only 4 petals!! My bad! My previous answer was wrong. Smh. The correct answer is 81. Formula still applies, though

DeleteBecause 2 yellow flowers equals to 2, hence in the last equation, it was only 1 yellow flower that was given, so the correct answer is 1+ (20*5)= 1+100=101

ReplyDeleteBefore we begin, note that there are 2 yellow flowers in the third equation, and there are 4 blue petals in the last equation (whereas the other blue flowers have 5 petals each).
Also note that for the final equation, we have to apply BODMAS (in which multiplication comes before addition).
Now, if the red flower is 20 (because 60÷3=20)
And the blue flower with 5 petals is 5 (because 30-20 is 10, and 10÷2=5)
And the yellow flower is 1 (because 2+3=5, where 2 stands for the yellow flower. And since there are 2 yellow flowers, we go ahead and say 2÷1=1)
Also, check the last equation, the blue flower is no longer 5 but it is 4 because there are 4 petals in that picture.
Therefore it is safe to say that the equation in figures is ..
20 + 20 + 20= 60
20 + 5 + 5= 30
5 - 2 = 3
1 + (20 × 4) = 81
However, if we disregard the missing blue petal in the last equation and count the petals as 5 (even though I strongly think that it shouldn't be disregarded because that equation was meant to be a tricky one), then it should be..
1 + (20 × 5) = 101.
The easiest way to approach this is like algebra
