Breakfast And Lunch Idea!

Try this for Breakfast or Lunch!

FLUFFY AKARA BALLS..

 Ingredients;
 1. 2 cup of beans
 2. Onions
 3. Vegetable oil
 4. 6 pieces of rodo and a little tatashe
 5. Salt and Maggie to taste.

 How to wash the beans;
 Soak the beans in water for a minute and pour into the blender, add water and run the blender briskly for 2 or 3 seconds,pour into a bowl and repeat till process on the remaining soaked beans.

 This process makes the washing very very easy to wash with little or no stress.

After separating the beans from the peel soak in water for an hour or two/ until the beans is very soft and looks swollen (please note that it's very important to allow the beans soak properly)

 The making;
Pour some of the soaked beans into the blender with the pepper/onion add enough water and run till smooth and fluffy, repeat process till all is fully blended(please make sure you blend the beans in batches and at once).

 Note- do not add too little or too much water as it will make it flat.

 Add salt and Maggie to taste and deep fry in hot oil.

 You may add chopped onions and crayfish if you desire.

 Serve with ogi, agidi, bread or garri.

Stay blessed.

    1. My dear that was fried moi moi and not akara. Akara does not need more than onion, pepper and salt for the natural taste&flavour.
      Btw, you tried b/c it's not everyone that have got the patience to wash beans, cause it takes so much time.

  8. Wow. Yummy akara balls. For the crayfish, obviously not for the kids. A mini home mill(grinding machine) is better for a smooth bean paste.
    You're a neat woman, me like.

    1. Says who? Your recipe must not be another person's own. Stick to your own if you can't explore. Variety is the spice of life.

    2. Salt and fresh pepper is enough for akara na... some people even go as far as adding onga seasoning to akara Mschew! *pukes*

      Delete
    3. Yes you are right as it won't give you that natural taste onlyy moimoi you need Maggi n. Other seasoning for

    4. That explains why I 've always preferred roadside akara. I will try it with just salt n pepper. Thanks

    5. Good looking akara balls,very neat kitchen, detailed preparation. Next time blend the crayfish. Elixir Ray,Anon 11:04 is 100% correct...No to seasoning cubes. This is akara not moimoi. Seasoning cubes sure has nothing to do with variety!!! Talk of adding eggs,crayfish to spice up variety. Or do you add sugar to your bitterleaf soup?Since,variety is the spice of life? We learn from others dear. Take to cooking correction or waka pass jejeli. Food should taste like food jare

    6. Hhmmmmm.....i will go with anon 11:04 biko. No be everything be Maggi Maggi. A friend once corrected my using knoww seasoning cubes(my favourite seasoning) in cooking Edikikong soup. Did I listen? Yes. Did it turn out well? Yesssss...and yummy. Maggi inside akara kwa? Nne,biko chill. Who variety epp?
