VICE PRESIDENT OSINBAJO TO REPRESENT NIGERIA AT 8th SUMMIT OF AFRICAN, CARIBBEAN & PACIFIC GROUP OF STATES IN PAPUA, NEW GUINEA

President Muhammadu Buhari will be represented by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, at the 8th Summit of Heads of States of African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States holding in Papua New Guinea from May 30-June 1.

Prof. Osinbajo will join leaders from 78 other countries to address the summit in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea which will discuss the future of the ACP Group as a "revitalised cohesive force advocating the interests of its member states in the international arena."

A statement from the Secretariat of the organization added that discussions at the summit will also review recent key international developments, including Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, issues of migration, climate change and the fight against terrorism.

One of the main objectives of the ACP group is the "sustainable development of its Member-States and their gradual integration into the global economy, which entails making poverty reduction a matter of priority and establishing a new, fairer, and more equitable world order."

"The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) is an organisation created by the Georgetown Agreement in 1975. It is composed of 79 African, Caribbean and Pacific states, with all of them, save Cuba, signatories to the Cotonou Agreement, also known as the 'ACP-EC Partnership Agreement' which binds them to the European Union. There are 48 countries from Sub-Saharan Africa, 16 from the Caribbean and 15 from the Pacific," in the ACP.

Vice President Osinbajo will leave Abuja early Sunday and return later in the week on Thursday.

(Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is also expected to participate at the summit as he will present a report on the future of the Group as the Leader of its Eminent Persons Group (EPG).)

  10. Alhamudullilah! They should keep this useless fake pastor in the Papua New Guinea with his fellow pigmy dwarf midgets and allow Nigerians to breathe. They should even help his pierce that his ugly nose with bone like they do there. Can they help us keep his snake face wife and wayward daughter Kiki too? It is worth the wasted estacode and travel allowance if the Papua people can just hold this short man there and reunite him with his genetic relatives. Short man devil fake pastor.
