Senate President Bukola Saraki and his vice Ike Ekweremadu are in more trouble as the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, has declared the election which brought them to power null, adding that it couldn’t stand the test of legality.
He urged the Director of Public Prosecution to proceed immediately in probing their leadership.
The Attorney General who wrote a legal opinion, through his office stated that
The legal advice added,
The legal advice also recommended that the Senate leaders be prosecuted
since the election was conducted with an alleged forged document, it is just natural to conclude that election in itself is a nullity from the beginning. In the legal advice issued by the Federal Ministry of Justice with reference number, DPPA/ADV/258/15, recommending that some suspects, whom the police refused to name in their investigative report, should be prosecuted”.
“Further investigation should reveal:
“Who authorised the promulgation of the Senate Standing Order 2015?
“Who published the Senate Standing Order 2015?
“Who approved the Senate Standing Order 2015?
“Who paid for the publishing of the Senate Standing Order 2015? and
“Who distributed the Senate Standing Order 2015?”
“for criminal conspiracy, contrary to provision of Section 97 of the Penal Code; forgery, contrary to Section 99 of Penal Code; breach of official trust and unlawful assembly contrary to Section 102 of the Penal Code.”

ReplyDeleteNawah! One week, one trouble.
DeleteClick my name for all your celebration cakes and cupcakes, cheers
Long overdue. And Saraki refused to step down. You see your life!? Shameless man
DeleteThey couldnt get them through a declaration by the Federal High Court, they want to take the criminal angle. They will still fail. Too many things nobody is sure of. He said "its natural to say its null". Stemming from his opinion. Stella, the AGF cannot 'declare' anything, he can only give a legal opinion or recommend prosecution. But before then, the court has to declare the document forged and false. Then they can become culpable for being elected under a forged document. You are looking at atleast 3 legal suits;both civil and criminal. I'm sure the senate are well equipped and ready to face this prosecution or persecution, whichever case. 1 year is almost gone and the cabal that wants them out still raging and engaging their lapdog, Attorney General who is also a minister of the president. I pity this country if this matter escalates. It wiLl lead to multiple law suits which the senate will close their chambers to attend. The PDP senators wont allow Ekwerenmadu go down. The Saraki supporters wont do so too. It will bring discord. The senate will break the executive arm in any way they can; they have so much power to 'check' the executive. The judiciary will be in between. The country will flare up. Isn't it wiser to let sleeping dogs lie? Why cant they try to work with Saraki and co? What are they hiding that they need their own man at the helm of affairs?
DeleteThere is a waft of petty bitterness that is slowing blowing through Nigeria right now. People are peddling to their basest vengeful feelings. The current leadership, and the APC in general, are fueling all this ill feeling with the way they have gone about their business since they came into power - open bias, scapegoating, vengeful persecution, high handedness, hypocrisy, cheery picking, among others. All of a sudden it has become "fashionable" to be openly NASTY in Nigeria. I sincerely wonder where all this is leading to?
DeleteThe attorney general should head to the court. Why is he blabbing on television?
ReplyDeleteHe is just Jagaban 's henchman
Dey haff come again.
ReplyDeleteAre they corrupt or are 'they' corrupt? Saraki haff sofad in dia hands sha! To say dt i like him.
E com afect my ibo broda.
Just a legal opinion.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they will challange this paid codswallop in court with their last blood. Who asked for his legal opinion? Where was he when the election was being held? What are the rudiments of forgery? And how is it proved? So, I benefit from an alleged forged document by means of votes, then im culpable? And all those who vied for the so called election with hope of winning arent? And those who voted in the election arent. Hahahahahahaha. Joker.
This guy just exposed himself to be daft with this silly LO. My advice for Tinubu and Buhari is to let sleeping dogs lie. There's no way they can have absolute powers. They need a stooge there to do their biddings so they can siphon money without opposition. Then they can gag the press, next. Arrest bloggers and claim they were part of the people that ate from GEJ's stolen funds because they ran adverts. Then opposition like FFK, imprisoned. People like Fayose, they are already waiting for him with this useless 'electoral bribery rubbish'. Thinking the man would shut up. But wait, who is advising this imbecilic president? Is not as if the economy is good sef. An igbo proverb says that when you cook for the people, they will eat, when the people cook for you, u cannot finish it. You just cant fight everyone! What if this boko haram/isis thing, biafra, shiites, herdsmen terror, niger delta, angry youths who wanna occupy naija happen at the same time. Can the fool withstand it without the support of the senate and the country. The handwriting is on d wall but the ignorant people wont see it. He is politically unwise. In politics, to be vindictive is a weakness.
You're silly
