    3. It is only a stupid person that will believe that a "supposed" freshly baked bread will form thick mould in their house within 2days"
Every food has pattern of decomposition under outside conditions.
Next time get a lawyer and take the food straight to a standard lab. Then let the lawyer slam them lawsuit before coming to social media. People don't deserve any atom of pity these days.

    4. Even when tomatoes were cheap, I always wondered who buys those rotten tomatoes they keep beside the tables until I knew these fast foods do. They just grind it like that. Because washing it is a waste cos it is already watery itself.
They grind it up with the whitish stuff and cook your fantastic meal that you praise them for.
I once said that I can't even boast of not ever eating vulture cos I can't deny if these fast foods buy them in place of chicken.
Yet,they come and bring up HACCP. LMAO! Please can somebody go and confirm the standards in megachicken.
I bet you have used your rubbish PR to bring problem on yourself.

    5. Mega Chicken, your clap back is doing more harm than good. Something as small as beancake can cause you so much harm.
This is not a matter of getting angry, if you attract standards organisation of Nigeria on yourself because you want to "clap back" then better keep millions that you will use and settle them.
Looking at that plate, that moimoi was rotten and can't be two days old. Better let this issue rest, go to your shelves and remove other rotten foods you have packaged well to sell to innocent customers.

    6. You people are saying they should just apologise! If they say it's not their moin moin, will they apologise for her fridge. Them apologising for what they dint do means that people have to keep asking them 'hope your moin moin is not stale today o' Blessing should keep quiet. She should go there and lodge a complaint. I dunno why they replied. Now anybody can come and write on social media. Orisirisi

  2. My major problem with blessing is that she hasn't put a call thru to them or gone there to complain. I'm quite sure if she had gone there to make her claim instead of ranting of social media, she would have gotten a better treatment. Mega chicken never insulted her, they just did not apologize. They were not even rude but as usual, our goody two shoes, holier than thou bvs must claim otherwise. Blessing, biko next time, cook ur moi moi at home and stop disturbing us.

    1. Coming from an uncouth person, I must put it to you that you are the most inappropriate person to weigh in on this issue that boarders around bad PR.
What do you know about being professional in PR. I bet you don't even know the meaning of PR. For someone like you who is believed to have had little or no home training, I don't even expect you to see the flaw in the "clap back". BTW, that was why it was called a clap back.
In the future, please note that it is important to chose argument within your intellectual class. Stop exposing your ignorance. Use Google and see replies of companies like amazon, burger king etc to customers. That's what is called professionalism.

    3. I think I agree with you to an extent.

They should have just apologised. Wont cost them a thing. Its arrogance to carry on like that. And its common in Nigeria where they know people cant boycott things. Today, im sure that place is flooded with people. Doesnt affect them, but still, its good etiquette and PR to apologise.

As for Blessing, It is misuse of star power and unfair to drag their name to the mud without laying a complaint first. How would she feel if this kind of thing happens to her. People, including stars face less than appropriate treatment from people daily, at banks, schools, churches, eateries yet they dont rush to social media to call out those institutions and people. As she claimed, she has bought good ones that didnt spoil severally. Isnt it only fair to go and lay complaints there first? She took the lazy way out, snap, rush to twitter, call them out. Im sure she does business too and she should know how it hurts. I sell hair to you, you go and use the wrong serum and enter rain with it and it tangles, u rush to social media to call me out with my name, surname and address. I sell weightloss tea to you, you take it after burger and wash it down with giant size coke and u rush to social media. Just maybe if the hair was that good, it should have still withstood. Just maybe if the tea was effective, you shouldnt have gained as much weight. But isnt it just and fair to contact the seller 1st cos others have been buying without complaint?

There are certain eateries that write on their plates that take-outs are best consumed 15 minutes after purchase. Its perishable food and its wrong to state that because it spoilt after 1 day away from their own conditions of preservation, it was rotten/stale at purchase. I think she misused her powers as a star to try to bully them. She's the bully here, not the other way round.

    4. I'm with you on this one. I would have supported her fully if she had complained to then and nothing cane out of it before going on social media.

I read a story weeks ago on nairaland.com about SLOT. The guy came on social media to broadcast d ill treatment he got after he had gone back to their office to complain (they sold him a fake infinix charger). After the news broke out, they coy invited him for talks and he was compensated and apologised to as well.

That's the way to go and not just run to social media to blab. As much as "customer is king", they too have to protect their business too. More so, manner of approach matters in all.

    4. We once bought a spoilt birthday cake from mega chicken lekki for a friends birthday. Cake cost 6500. We only realised it was spoilt when we cut into it and it was looking like foam. Then we tasted it and all spat out. The thing was so spoilt the taste had changed. It had green mucus all over it. I swore never to buy cake from mega chicken again. I don't blame them when their main chef at that lekki branch is Chinese. And we all know how Chinese and Indians are

      Delete
    5. Anonymous 10:53, your argument is somewhat flawed. Coca Cola is a giant brand and 99% of consumers do not have access to them directly (we buy from the local markets, retailers, wholesalers etc). So if anything should go wrong, the much you can do is to take it back to the place of purchase (I've had to do that myself). Whether the retailer/wholesaler will further the complaint to the distributor who would in turn forward to Coca Cola is another thing.

However, in this case, it would have been in everyones best interest to go back to Mega Chicken or even give them a call to complain about this. Thanks to social media, pictures of the supposed spoilt product could be easily exchanged and the issue managed better.

I like what Bonaparte said about this. She shouldn't have taken the easy way out.

    8. Anon 12:44, I love the way you acknowledged that coca cola is a giant brand, yet they can never issue this sort of rubbish reply to a customer.
I have had issues with them and I resolved it online. They directed me on how to go about it and before I left my house, someone has been directed somewhere to attend to me.
Blessing has the right to call them out by what ever means she pleases! She was even calm about it. I would have preferred it if she started by getting a lawyer involved and then publishing the law suit online.
Someone like you will call her wicked for filing a law suit against them. Every business has its gain and loss, every food that is left over "like moi moi should be thrown away" but they will want to make money at the expense of people's lives and here you are defending them.
I will applaud someone that will create awareness publicly than a saboteur that will quietly go behind to collect another moi moi and leave other people in danger.

      Delete
    9. Anno13:56.Beautiful!. I love that you reached out and they directed you on how to resolve. That's just where I have a problem with Blessing, reach out to the coy and see if they snob you, then build your case on that.

In this case, it's a two way thing, nobody can concretely say that the moi was bad from the onset, could be and vice versa. I've once had to travel with straight from the pot piping hot ogbono soup. Wasnt such a long trip, but by the time I got to my destination, it was foaming already and had this stale smell due to heat reaction (guess the heat from the soup as it was dished and sealed straight up and the heat from the car). If i had left that soup unwarmed and put in a fridge, what do you think would have happened by the next morning?

This is not to justify anything oh, but there isn't a one rule for food spoilage not ruling out that it could be the Coy's fault.

Like you said, you can call out by any means and the coy responded, didn't they?. They defended their product and also offered her a platform to look into the matter if she so wishes. I guess their crime from your view is the lack of apology from their end. Well, while customer is king and would have been good of them to apologise, customers should learn not to abuse their powers too and channel their complaints to the right direction(it isn't so difficult, is it?)

As for filing a suit, on the contrary, i would have applauded her as that would have shown an intent from her to look into the matter and resolve. Atleast, the lawyer would make contact on her behalf and the coy will be given the chance to air their views/defend themselves on the matter. That action is justifiable as opposed to her social media rant. Cheers!

      Delete
    10. Anon15:47, no matter how much heat a car generates, it cannot cause mould to form.
Mould is a fungi. And doesn't form within hours.
There is a difference between something tasting sour and something having mould or maggots.

      Delete
    11. Anon15:47, can you use social media to post good feedbacks on their products? Or do you need to fly back to lagos from Enugu state just to tell them you had a nice meal? If your answer to the question is YES! Then let me know why it will become an offence to use the same medium as she did.
Maybe it is a case of tell me only the good part syndrome. Why do you people call out Buhari on social media? Why haven't you written a petition? Why do you complain about the economy on social media? So from today,no one should discuss the police, NASS, ministers, president etc online without first contacting them. SHIKENA!

      Delete
    12. By all means, write a review if you so wish, the coy has the right to respond to the reviews as they so wish. If you want to build a case, then approach them and do the needful. Thats the message here.
Shebi they responded albeit in a non-apologetic way and that's the fuss about this matter. I'm tired of the back and forth on this matter. Maybe we can agree to disagree sha.

As for the Buhari yarns, flawed argument again. Do you think I'd go online to rant if i had a way of reaching them personally? I think not. We are confined to daily online rants as we unable to access them. Give me a means of reaching Buhari and all these our politfians and i won't hesitate to the needful.

      Cheers!

    13. To add to what I just wrote up there, the flying back scenario is not relevant at all. I'm sure mega chicken has a number written on that moi moi plate and their take away nylons too. Possibly an email too if it's much job to check online for it. These avenues could be explored in reporting a matter and not necessarily coming in person if one isn't opportuned to.

I rest my case here dear. This is just my opinion and I'm sticking with it regardless. Cheers!

  5. Take the moi moi to their office and lay your complaint. How are they to attend to you when you are on social media. Did you buy the good via social media?? You know the right thing to do stop doing the whole social media madness...

Even Kate Henshaw asked you to take it to their office and leave it there. If I buy something that is bad I'll return it to them and demand for an apology there and a new one.. Next using social media to spoil someone's business.. The ones you ate were good...

    1. You are a typical Nigerian, their business is the most important thing to you instead of even trying to certify if the fact that the moi moi was good or not.
Do you think most of these fast foods don't know that they mix stale food with fresh ones? They just hope someone doesn't come back (typical Nigerian will say Just moi moi of how much)
They go to market and buy rotten tomatoes and dead animals to cook and sell yet they will come out and be shouting "we follow due process"
If calling them out on social media was wrong, why did they even bother replying?
If she had poured encomiums on them, will you say that she should have gone to their office to do that? That is double standards. Let the fear of social media make them to be careful of what they do because most of them bribe the officials that are supposed to make sure they follow standards.
Yesterday,i posted a comment on how they sold petrol submerged cake to me (a full cake), then I went back there to go and take more insult from them and ended up paying for another whole cake just to prove the wrong they did to me. The next thing was "abeg madam sorry" bla bla bla, but they knew cos someone had complained before. three children ate from that cake. Finally, who lost?
Atleast, blessing calling them out on social media will make them buckle up and save more people. Everything is not about spoiling someone's business, if you care about your business then do it well. Don't give people room to even spoil it. That is my take.

      Delete
    2. Kate henshaw asked her to take it back and leave so that they will gain double and quickly sell it to someone else to pack as lunch box to a child that will now die for food poisoning.
Atleast, now before I leave any restaurant, I will open all the food and check. I do not fault her by making it public. People that handle what someone eats should be careful.

Same way they refuse to disclose their HIV status to their sexual partners and yet keep having unprotected sex with them and still be claiming children of God.

    Eckk!

Okay, they provide beautiful services, but this is a mistake. Somehow, a stale meal was sold to her by someone. They should apologise and promise to look into the matter, and ensure that such doesn't happen again. Simple.

  13. Mega chicken is the bomb! The don't sell expired food, why would anyone buy moimoi outside ttho? If you're not buying from people that sell by the road side my dear don't even bother. Eateries usually have left overs so they preserve and sell next day. What I've noticed with mega chicken is if you don't eat that food within 10mins or refrigerate it within 10mins it'll taste bad, they food doesn't have shelf life. Even when you buy to keep make sure it's in the freezer, in the fridge it'll definitely get spoilt. That's my observation with their food and I think they need to look into this because it's kinda weird. You buy food from the place and it's ok for at most 1hr. This blessings issue I think the fault is actually from her, she should have kept the food in the freezer not fridge. Moimoi on its own doesn't even have shelf life(and egusi) so I honestly think she shouldn't have posted this because it even happened the next day after 4 out of the 5 she bought was eaten and nothing happened to them. Mega chickens response was written with pride, wrong move. They should have apologized first, well anyone that goes to mega well knows their manager is saucy and that showed in their letter. Anyway rotten moimoi or not, doesn't stop me from going there, what will stop me is if someone else dies in front of that place because it seems that place is a death ground. Someone must die there every year

    2. Hmnnn, you just ended up contradicting yourself. The only way food gets bad within few mins you bug them is that they are already passing thru decomposition. Bacteria and other organisms are already colonising the food and that makes it not fit for consumption.
Every food that follow proper way of cooking and standard preservation cannot go bad within a little time. I cannot buy rice that was cooked today and get home to meet it all gummy and slippery, that rice was not freshly cooked or preserved well. Unfortunately, that is where they will lose the case because they are supposed to be adhering to standards.

  22. Mega Chicken yesterday reply shows how ignorant most Nigerians are, even companies like Macdonalds has been shut down for not adhering to standards and you come online to shade your customer that you obviously sold rotten food to. The most annoying part is where you had the guts to mention HACCP guidelines! Oh!please! In this country? Even chocolate royale was faulted. That's a very very big lie and how am I even supposed to believe that you didn't mix good moi moi with the bad ones. You are saying you ve never sold spoilt food before? LIARS!

  23. It seems people are just out these days to tarnish other people's image or brand. If you had an issue with a product you purchased why come on social media to complain. She should have taken it to their office to complain or at least send them a Direct Message. And if she didn't get an apology from them then she can do this. At times we need to learn to put our legs in other people's shoes. If she owned an eatery would she be happy that someone comes to her page to lay this kind of message. She is in business and she knows the negative impact this can have on any business. Afterall she ate some that weren't bad and if she had taken the bad one to mega chicken I am sure they would have apologised and replaced it for her. Cos of one bad moi moi you came to social media to rant. Pls grow up madam. Her approach was very wrong and she shd think next time before acting. Social media is a blessing and not a curse pls let us use it right. Mega chicken is not being arrogant like people have stated, they know who they are and they cannot sell stale food. They also wanted to point out the fact that if you have an issue with a company direct your complaint to the office and not come on social media to rant. They just made her look stupid. We should all stop this social media madness, if you have an issue with someone inform the person about it first and not come on social media to rant. When we do this what are we trying to achieve? But to destroy the other person abi? Indeed the heart of man is wicked.

    1. Even the 'abroad' everyone is shouting. The company can also sue the star for libellous publication and damage to reputation and good will and claim millions in damages. Thats why stars dont talk anyhow. What if her claim is tested and verified to be wrong? Will she pay for the loss of business? That is why it is always good to follow due process. Its a two-way thing oh

    2. From a professional point of view, Blessing will win this case hands down.
It will be very very difficult for any fast food in Nigeria to pass the HACCP test. Put it this way "it will be easier for a carmel to pass through the eye of a needle".
Let them bring it on and they will lose millions on many grounds. BTW, that Moi moi was bad before they sold it.
If you care about your business being called out on social media, then don't give avenue for that. It is like a Obama getting drunk in public and removing his clothes then goes to blame media houses for publishing it as headlines... but you provided the news in the first place.

    3. @Bonaprte, in your opinion, do you think Megachicken will pass the standard test? Assuming they were to be probed.
Having in mind that they will interview all the staff that handle food starting from the point Of purchase.

    4. I dont know.lol. Most likely not. We know how sanitary situations are in Nigeria. My only point is due-process. People have turned social media to a court. You wont know how painful it is till someone does it to you. That is, use their social media platform (where they have population of followers), to accuse you and paint a story in their own way. Its a way of taking advantage of stardom.

She's a long standing customer. She should have gone there to complain. That is benefit of the doubt which everyone deserves.

    5. Bonaparte, the problem with business owners in Nigeria is that most do not treat or acknowledge complaints until you run to social media.

You call them and you will most likely not get an answer or solution, tweet it and see them acting fast. LOL

Maybe that was what Blessing thought of.

    6. Lols, but you know oyibo people are masters at online calling out. You should go to Amazon and read product reviews and read customers opinion on goods. You will never buy anything but yet the seller's dare not write this kind of nonsense megachicken wrote. That is business for you but others will also praise you.

  24. This is why at McDonald's and other fast food restaurants in the west throw out food that has not been purchased after two hours of preparation. Some restaurants depending on what you order make their sandwiches, burgers etc. after you place your order.

    1. which Naija fast food will do that? For where. Until they see maggot coming out.
Even at that, they will even tell you that maggot is animal protein. No fast food in Nigeria adhere to s not to talk of standards.

  25. Anonymous 12:44, the difference between Coca Cola and fast food restaurants is that Coca Cola is manufactured and bottled at Coca Cola factories and fast food restaurants prepare and directly handle the food they sell to customers.

So if there is anything wrong with a Coca Cola drink one has the right to complain directly to Coca Cola and not the retailer/wholesaler or the distributor because they did not bottle the drink, Coca Cola bottled it so the retailer/wholesaler or the distributor has no access whatsoever to the content of the bottle unless the bottle top has been tampered with at the time of purchase then the customer can complain directly to where it was purchased.

If the bottle was sealed and was not tampered with in any way then whatever foreign object found in the Coca Cola bottle came from the factory which Coca Cola is solely responsible for.

In the UK we have direct access to Coca Cola, they have their contact number and registered address on every bottle and on their UK website. If you call them or write to them you will speak to someone regarding your issue or get a response to your letter to resolve your issue.

    1. Thank you very much anon 14:07, the issue is that Nigerians always claim that they know it all when they actually know nothing. Even as big as the coca cola brand is, they will still humbly listen to you and go about it professionally. I used social network to lay my complaints and they never insulted me. Finally,i went to write a review on their site. All these tiny tiny mushroom companies will be forming larger than life because they are in a country like Nigeria.

  26. The immediate apology you get in the UK once you contact a company to complain about their product is " We are sorry to hear you are not happy with our products" or the mentioned product name, then they will investigate your complaint further and get back to you to resolve the issue.

The fact that you contacted them to complain about a product means you will get an instant apology because you have complained about their product. That apology does not mean they are admitting any fault or that they are at fault, that apology is simply because you have complained about their product.

The fault could even be 100% yours but they will still give you an instant apology for the complaint you made about their product before any investigation is done or resolution is achieved.

As a company they don't want anyone to complain about their products, even if the product is 100% perfect the fact that you complained that you don't like it for whatever flimsy reason, they will still say they are "sorry to hear" that their product is not to your satisfaction or not what you expected from it.
