– The president said he will name those who have returned their loots and the amount returned
President Buhari
Ahead of Nigeria’s democracy day on May 29, President Muhammadu Buhari will reveal names of persons who have voluntarily returned looted public funds.
The president who will also mention total amount recovered so far by his government made this known during an interview in London after attending a four-day international summit on anti-corruption hosted by the British government.
“So far, what has come out, what has been recovered, in whatever currency, from which ministry, department and individuals, I intend on the 29th to speak on this because all that Nigerians are getting to know are from the newspapers, radio and television. We want to make a comprehensive report by May 29,” Buhari said.

In December 2015, President Buhari had promised to those who have voluntarily returned looted funds to the coffers of the Federal Government in due course.
Then, he had said: “in due course, the Central Bank of Nigeria will make information available to the public on the surrendered funds.”
He said his government owes Nigerians adequate information on recovery of looted funds, explaining that it is part of the collective effort to change the country from the “bastion of corruption it currently is, to a place of probity and transparency”.
Meanwhile, President Buhari has personally replied to British PM Cameron comments on Nigeria describing corruption as a “hydra-headed monster” and advises any country that thinks it’s safe from corruption to wake up.

ReplyDeleteIt took him a year to make the looters? If I don't see makes like ibb, abacha, abdulsalam abubakar, obasanjo etc topping that list, then you sir are a complete fraud. Oh and don't forget to include your name. Buhari also dipped his hands in our treasury. He owns a lot of properties including luxury apartments on the island. I forsee kids and old cows who know nothing about the history of this country taking this post north.

ReplyDeleteTo divert our attention from the fact that you have achieved nada
ReplyDeleteCongrats. That is what we need the most in all this suffering?
ReplyDeleteI hope this exercise doesnt go on to backfire against the govt.
Cos even after the jamboree and dust it will raise, how does it uplift the people? Thats the pertinent question on lips.
We dont need comic relief from the clowns in government or distraction or something to cheer the people for a while.
Build a strong economy and lasting institutions. In this Buhari's govt, it feels like his delegates have no real powers. The ministers sound like they are being used as front-men. The statesmen are gagged. The perm secs, head of efcc, cbn gov seem like stooges. Its a government run by a few people. The institutions and arms within the executive appear to be non-existent.
This is the more reason why the people must look closely at this man and start questioning him on time. Forget what he says; is he really incorruptible? Best to nip it at the bud before it becomes a cancer.
Buhari ran the government without ministers for 6months, yet I never heard about him accounting for the monies made during that period. God forbid we are blind to trust a mere human being like a god.
You last paragraph has been on my mind
DeleteMy bubu my bubu.I have missed you.I can't wait to lie in your arms all night long as you whisper sweet nothings in my ears.I love you bubu andcan't wait for the day we will be together.I loved you then.I love you now.I will love you forever.
