Lai Muhammed Says FG Increased Fuel Price Because Nigeria Is Broke

The Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji. Lai Mohammed said yesterday in
Lagos that the recent decision by the federal government to increase the
pump price of Petrol was unavoidable.

He said the Federal Government had to increase the price to raise money to run the system, since Nigeria was broke noting that the country's foreign earnings had reduced drastically in recent times and that the only way out of its present financial predicament was to look inwards to generate more money.

Lai however assured that government was doing everything possible to ensure
it does not fail on its promises to Nigerians....

    2. These current government must be mad. Nigeria is broke huh?. Did the 'brokeness' affect their salaries? Or they are still earning big amounts of money for doing nutin and the poor masses suffer for the brokeness? Did the brokeness of nigeria stop buhari and co from travelling round the world?.

All these ministers, they haven't received salary since their appointment or is it just civil servants that are entitled to suffering?

God save the innocent citizens of this country. Even in past administrations where people were stealing money upandan nigeria didn't go broke. It's in dis corruption tenure that nigeria decides to go broke. Ok so what happened to all the 'returned loots'? ooo God, I am too angry for the leaders of this country.. God save Nigeria!!!.

We are never going to grow with this type of mindset . These set of buffoons in office are just amazing.

  10. Awesome confession! So why are governors still collecting hundreds of millions in the name of "security vote"? Why are senators getting a pay package of over $2million annually when POTUS is making $400,000? Why is PMB flying like a witch on a mission when the country is broke? If the country is broke, cut from the affluent 1% to palliate the crunching 99%. Sometimes I just wonder the intensity of lies & juju these "polictricians" use to confess the electorates.

  12. This is what happens when you talk too much, very soon you start to sound incoherent and subsequently, like you don't have a thinking faculty.

The government(executive and the upper, lower houses) could not think of slashing their allowances to augment and fill the gap!(even if it doesn't totally fill it)

So you ask the masses to hustle for the money to fund your lavish lifestyle?!
Do this people think we are daft?!

How much in the budget goes to the typical market woman or okada rider?

So we should buy fuel at 145 so that you can finally get the 13million you wanted to borrow from NBC to import the masquerade attires from china?!

You will soon goof and rubbish Buhari totally if you keep opening your mouth at every opportunity?! By the time, I await the end of the total ruin you currently wrought in the ministry of information.

    Empty brain!
Buhari had better fire this man soon!

And who the fuck is the PRO for APC again?!

  30. I believe Nigeria is broke.
We depend solely on sales of crude oil whose price has dropped in the world market..
We import refined oil ,when there is no profit from the sales of the parent compound.
How can a man who has just one business that isn't yielding good profit not be broke?
Other countries have textiles which they export and make gains..They have agricultural produce which they export and make gains...Nigeria has only crude for exportation and we import virtually everything ,down to papers for printing. (And sambisa forest is there for harvesting o)
Nigeria can't sustain this subsidy crap. .you subsidise when you have enough in the first instance.
Agreed the economy is very harsh, it affects me too.its time for subsidy to be stopped (that's coming from the angle of the common man) and the salaries of the serving officers should only be 3 times or 5 times the minimum wage if the average Nigerian.they should scrap out sitting allowance and cutlery allowance..maybe then and only then would people who have good intentions venture into politics not these thieves parading themselves as politicians.
Ps.dnt mind my punctuations I'm exhausted after a busy night.if you know what I mean
