Com' on guys! Just because there is a dictionary definition of a word doesn't make the use of same proper. True, the term "bastard" is an English word but it is a derogatory word, especially where the child being referred to is just a baby whom shouldn't suffer because of his parents' indiscretions. Please try not to pass your disdain or reservation for the parents down to the little angel.
ReplyDeleteThere are other words you can use to describe the baby for the sake of decency. Even the use of the word "cub" is inappropriate but that has been overshadowed by the mum who referred to the father of her child as "my lion". Lol! I'm sure she meant it in positive terms but trust "us" in "our" usual sarcastic manner to milk her words for all their worth. So we can safely blame it on momma.
Nowadays, Courts no longer regard the term "illegitimate" when describing children born out of wedlock. In the eyes of the Law, all children are legitimate regardless of the union which produced the children. FFK proudly announced the birth of his son to the world and both parents seem thrilled to have him. We aren't even sure of the true status of their union. They could have quietly legalised their union. Whatever the case may be, please, let's show some amount of decency when referring to the baby. Mother and Father can be fair game if you're so inclined to have at them.
Just as an aside, for those who still choose to use that derogatory term, be aware that some of the legendary men whom history has their names carved in gold, were children born out of wedlock. Men like King David, the only person God referred to as "a man after my own Heart", of course his heir, King Solomon who was the wisest and richest king ever recorded in history. Leonardo da vinci, one of the most intelligent and creative minds that ever existed. Thomas Paine, regarded as one of the founding fathers of the American Republic who helped the wide spread of the American revolution in the 17th century. These are just a some of them. In spite of the circumstances surrounding the birth of a child, he/she can still attain greatness
Exactly, irrespective of the circumstances surrounding his birth. He will still be great willingly, but he is a BASTARD.
DeleteEven if FFK decides to go and we'd now, he was born a BASTARD. You can Never use English and remove that fact. People don't get mad when they are reffered to as Widows, widower, divorced, Baby mama etc so bastard is neither the child's fault nor the person that is using the word.
It is like an Tyrion Lannister rejecting that he is a dwarf instead of trying to stop people from referring to him as one. It is the duty of the parents to protect their children, in this case they decided to make him a bastard.
It doesn't affect his destiny, he must embrace who he is.

Peeps, the spelling of the word is Capisce, which originates from the italian word Capisci. It is not Kapish or kabish....
