Domestic Violence - Police Arrest Alleged Wife Killer Lekan Shonde

Efforts of the Lagos State Police Command to bring to justice a man, Lekan Shonde, who allegedly killed his wife yielded a result on Monday as he has been arrested in Lagos.

Shonde is currently being quizzed at the Command headquarters in Ikeja

Lekan was said to have allegedly strangled his wife, Ronke, to death and fled the scene leaving behind their two children in the house.
After an alarm was raised by the family’s nanny, who reported for duty on Friday morning, neighbours were forced to break down the doors of the deceased’s flat due to loud cries of the children.

Blood was said to be oozing from the nostrils of Ronke when her body was discovered. There were also bruises on her. Ronke was said to be an employee of Guaranty Trust Bank until she was sacked recently before she went into the business of selling clothes.

According to the police image-maker, “Marks of violence” were found on Ronke’s body, suggesting that she was murdered in cold blood. “Yes, I confirm the incident. The landlady reported it on Friday at about 8:00a.m. She said at about 7:00a.m., she heard the screaming of Mrs. Ronke Shonde’s children, who was one of her tenants, as they couldn’t find the key to open their door from inside.

“When the door was forced open from outside, the lifeless body of the victim was found on the floor. Police operatives visited the scene and the corpse was removed and deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.”

As I think that the death penalty for a convicted murderer is still hanging..not sure. But with that nonsense interview he granted he's finished. There's no room for manslaughter argument. Infact his case shouldn't take long to conclude

    ReplyDelete
  24. That guy is more likely to have turned himself in, or ratted by his friend for the ransom money, than for the useless and incompetent nigeria police to have found him.

The nigerian police has to be by far the worst set of degenerates the world has ever placed in charge of securing lives and property. Their incompetence knows no bounds! They are all a disgrace to the uniform. The junior officers look dirty in black, the senior officers have pot belly in blue; their shoes are dusty, their uniforms unkempt; they wreak of alcohol all the time and are basically an embarassment.

When someone was on a PHCN pole trying to commit suicide last week, the nigerian police were more likely to have shot him down than coerce from commiting suicide. It is on video that they just left the scene when the sun was getting too hot for them, and they had to go and drink some more or something stupid.

Be that as it may, I think Lekan is a bit too old for Ronke Shonde; she must have married such an ugly ape out of desperation to marry or some sort of peer pressure.

It is advisable for all men to place their source of happiness away from women and into pints and fags; all women deflect their happiness away from men and into looking pretty and independent.

Look it is high time we backward Africans realise that the world has moved away from the bullshit marriages which the white man forced on us. Our forefathers married more than 1 wife and lived peaceably until the white man came to tell us that it was bad. They never complained to the whiteman that they had issues with it. Now 100 years down the line our colonial masters UK dont marry anymore, they now have "Partners".

Men in abusive marriages should take-off and women in abusive marriages should also take off. There is absolutely and categorically no need whatsoever in waiting for things to get so complicated that you wouldnt realise that you are committing suicide by jumping off the wrong bridge like teebillz, or deceiving everybody that you are a good wife by staging a phoney interview with a Louis Vuitton scarf and eye marker (not even pencil) and claiming you never cheated on your husband like Tiwa.

Look here, the reality of life is that the issue with Nigerian marriages are very simple and basic: (1) Money (2) Sexual non-performance (3) both.
Money is a function of the general state of fucked-up-ness of the economy.
Sexual non-performance is a culmination of malnutrition, stress at work and road, generator fumes, alcohol abuse & smoking caused by stress at work and road, look its a cyclical shit.

  37. I worked with Ronke briefly at GTbank, Ikoyi Branch, before she was sacked for CV issues. She was a pretty and well dressed lady despite being a contract staff, which shows her husband takes care of her. He picks and drops her off everyday and they both used to look happy. She is calm, likewise he. They were always jovial and happy and there were no signs whatsoever of issues in their marriage. Maybe the issues started after she was sacked, around 2013 thereabout. I don't know what happened with them, only God knows and only he can tell. Please let's pray for the kids and specifically for the mother of the deceased. Now that he has been caught, he can explain himself. But he's not d devil that's been described in d media...that's why men shd never allow provocation to take over them.
