Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode hosted musicians across the world, politicians and state officials in a Jazz concert in Lagos in commemoration of the International Jazz Day 2016.
TVC News reports that lovers and performers of the Jazz music gathered to enjoy the rhythm and lyrics of classical jazz with African flavour. It is an evening of Jazz with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, commemorating the international Jazz day 2016.
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Party chieftains, state officials, politicians and Jazz stakeholders were on hand to enjoy good music.
The governor said one of the ways through which Lagos hopes to achieve transformation into the tourism hub of Africa is to use the Jazz family. Also Veteran Nigerian Jazz performers spoke on the value of the genre of music and it’s role in national development.
The highpoint was the performance by Lagbaja and Yinka Davies. Asiwaju Tinubu and others commended the State government for the initiative. Lagos State government hopes to use the commemoration to grow the economy of the state and create jobs.
