  2. The country is over populated already. Large population chasing scarce resources.
Anyone that feels that he/she can't be useful to the country and humanity should do the honorable thing;Leave this earth peacefully and quietly

  3. Thanks Yvonne for shedding some light on this issue. Africans think it's a "whiteman's" disease. It affects all & in all age groups and that's why it's difficult for us to know or accept the signs and symptoms. We take it for granted. Marriages, relationships, have been thrown into confusion. Lives have been lost. If only we can recognize that a loved one is depressed, accept that it's depression not attention seeking and then seek help.

    1. Honestly it does. Depression is a mental disorder and when it strikes the victim looses control. It invites a tiny voice into the head that tells one all the wrong things to do like, jump off a bridge, slit your vein or drink poison. Most times victims are unconscious of their actions. We have to be mindful of things we tell people who brings their problems to us, if care isn't taken, it might be our last time with them.
      God help us.

  7. Depression is a terrible thing, it can happen to anybody. but it's not people's fault for not really listening to whoever is depressed. We have 1000 problems in this country/continent, and whoever is depressed can take care of him/herself. Pls speak out o!!! Bottling up the feeling will make one suicidal and more depressed. RIP...

  11. Depression is something real. My dad is a victim. He's an alcoholic, an extreme one, he's also suicidal. People think "they are doing him". But I'm just a 21 year old girl who is talking rubbish about alcoholism, the rest of the family won't listen to me. Now, his depression is gradually infecting the rest of the family and they don't know it. #sad

  14. Depression is real and should be taken seriously. Sadly, I lost my only sister to depression after she struggled for 7 years. We still cannot pin point what triggered it. She was a medical doctor and overdozed on her anti- depressants, she told my mom what she had done afterwards and said there was nothing anyone could do to reverse it. My mom rushed her to the hospital, she slept in the car and never woke up. Thinking about it now, it takes a miracle for a depressed individual to come out of it. My parents did everything possible to make her happy but it wasn't just enough, she kept saying she was tired. I wish I could write a story of what she went through to create awareness that depression can attack anyone irrespective of race, culture or financial capability. May I and my family never witness that kind of sickness or any deadly illness in Jesus name. Amen

  15. Let me add that she was taken to several popular churches for prayers. As a matter of fact she took her life just one week after completing deliverance in a very well known church. She kept saying it wasn't spiritual that we can't understand. I pray she has finally found the peace she was searching for.

  16. Who do I talk to about the boredom and loneliness I'm experiencing in my matrimonial home? I sit at home everyday. Sad and depressed most of the time.
Not that I don't love my husband. I do and he's a great guy. But I can't just sit home idle everyday. Lost my last job due to downsizing as a result of this economic recession. Been searching to no avail. We're broke. Food is running out, I have no where to turn to.
I've prayed and prayed but sometimes it seems like I'm losing faith. Don't know what else to do.
I've thought about several ways to end my misery but I'm yet to find the right exit.
Who can I talk to? Who will understand my circumstances without playing God and critique?
Or better still use me as the next gossip topic?
I'm nearing the end of my ropes.
God please come through for me.

    1. Ooooo, madam I hv felt the way u feel. I was able to pull myself out,by always being busy. Also I won't lie SDK has assisted me so much on dealing with my boredom and the feeling of loneliness. Also I hv a toddler, she is almost two so she helps me stay busy. I wld advice u learn a trade like beading or bag making, not particularly becos of d money but it wld help u kill idleness. Also I avoid ppl who hv a propensity to display all deir joy on social media(I am just being honest),not bcos I am jealous but sumtyms dey remind me how sad I am and how things aren't goin as I had imagined. Most times depression for sum ppl is borne out of boredom, idleness and d sense of being unaccomplished. So pls ma, don't dwell on all ur sad and bad things, dwell on d good things;u r married to a good man(many wld gv an arm and a leg to be loved),u hv ur health in full,ko easy rara and u are double blessed if u hv ur kids. So don't dwell on ur boredom. U r loved.
