Uzo-Uwani Enugu State As Killing Field.

Uzo-Uwani in Enugu state has been turned into a killing field by the marauding Fulani Herdsmen.

GRAPHIC PHOTO OF DEAD BODIES AFTER THIS POINT ON

An eyewitness report and pictures by Ikechukwu Donmichael Igwebuike on his Facebook page clearly shows the helplessness of the people against an armed militia group parading as cattle rustlers.

The military and Police services are controlled by the Federal government, their various state commands take orders from the central command. This leaves the state governments with little or no option to defend their people constitutionally but for how long can this go on?

As law abiding citizens, we have to speak up and step up the pressure on the elected reps at the National Assembly to take this up as a matter of urgent national interest to avert the looming anarchy in the Land. These needless deaths were widely foretold by the Transition Committee Chairman of Uzo Uwani Local Government Cornel Onwubuya but nobody listened.

    1. I don't support biafra but the govt should try as much as possible not to give room for 'biafra'. When the ibos decide to fight, then the scholarly writers, tribalists, bigots and other morons will spring out of their shells to do a thesis on ibos. Make no mistake, everyone is capable of self defense especially an aggrieved tribe still trying to suppress their anger toward the nation. They are only quiet for obvious reasons. Continuous attacks will bring unpleasant results. This must stop.

And oga buhari, what's your stand on this matter? Doesn't this call for national concern?

  11. And this is one of the reasons why we want BIAFRA. Buhari is not saying anything about it but behaving as if he hasn't heard what his brothers are doing. Declare them terrorist...Mba! An INNOCENT MAN (Nnamdi Kanu) is being held up till TODAY whereas those killing people are walking freely. APC na scam BIGGGGGGGG TIMMMMMMMME.

  13. That yeye president is yet to even tell his ppl to stop killing innocent civilians. What kinda president do we have sef. Took him a very long time to castigate bh and now that he's even a president, he won't say anything about the fulani herdsmen issue. Is it until they kill one of his family members?

One of d first case I heard about these fulani herdsmen killing was one that they butchered a man in his own farm in my own village, a man distantly related to me and this was late 2014 or early 2015, now it has escalated to killing tens and hundreds of people. At what point exactly will dis daura Dullard have something to say about this?

  17. These cattle rustlers don't own these cattle, they are also incapable of procuring arms and ammunitions on their own. They owners of these cattle are the ones who arm them, embolden them to kill and maim any onethat challenge them and assure them that nothing will happen after all. These people are the high and mighty in own society. It is sad that we have no representatives up their, only yes sir men

  20. How did 100 or more armed herdsmen move all the way from north to east unnoticed?
    Politically motivated I believe.

  21. This was how boko haram started o. Very soon this fulani herdsmen issue will escalate out of control and become more sophisticated. What kind of problem is this one? They use their cattle to destroy your farmland and if you complain, them go kill you join.

  22. Stella I wish you report most of the things happening in Nigeria. But then I don't really blame you. Because some of your readers will think this is just a one time occurrence of whixh it is not..

This happens in jos. The kill people every waking day in the villages in jos. Clear up villages and leave people fatherless and motherless. There operations are usually early hours of the morning..

Few months ago it was benue.

They strikes again in ife where they killed one of the workers of the ooni who challenged them and asked them to top destroying their farmlands. He was buried last week or so.

This people struck in enugu state few months ago and when theynpeople retaliated, they were rounded up and locked up, leaving the fulanis to walk freely. Now they have orchestrated another attack and they would walk freely again..

It was in the news that they disturbed some certain places in delta also. It's in the news that they have been destroying certain farmlands in the west also and no one seems to be cautioning them..

So no, igbos aren't just the victims. But the constant silence of the president on this issues is not good. Some of this news don't even make it to the news portals as they try to bury it..

Yesterday it was all over the news about 2 boys that were kidnapped by this fulani herd men on their way from Abuja to Lagos. That was after they had robbed the car. They are yet to release them..

Another news 2 days ago also a yoruba man on his way back from his trip was shot dead and his 2 elder brothers kidnapped.

Every day there is a death news and kidnap story by this certain group of people. They use their vows to block the road. When you stop to let the vows pass, they rob you, kill you and kidnap the rest. This is their tactics..

    I'm even tired of typing

  24. The east and Igbo land is no man's land so the fulani herdsmen can go there anytime they want and do whatever they want there. They are taking over the east and very soon they will drive all easterners out of there into the bush where they belong.

  27. Someone from Kano(Fulani) told me a blood curdling story about these cattle rearers.
It was hard for me to believe.

He said that once a tribe hurts these Fulanis especially their cows, that they send messages across to their people in the Neighbouring countries and somehow like thieves in the night they land/fly/crawl,whatever.

They are very diabolical and he even believes they come like the wind sort of. He gave me the attack in Jos as an example. They entered villages that had massive road blocks, the military didn't get a peep of them until daybreak when they leave ruins and massacres behind. No single trace of them.

Arrests of locals will be made, not knowing that the real killers have "magically" disappeared.

If his story is anything to go by,We have a problem in our hands.

Our Borders should be locked down!!! These people need to stop playing ten-ten at our borders.

    1. You see, it's been an ongoing issue that needs a permanent resolve. Like I keep saying and like many political analysts have suggested whilst speaking on different news platforms. They need to set up a committee to mediate with the herdsmen if perhaps they have an organization or a leader. They need to understand what their grievance is, give them a boundary for their cattle rearing so that they understand it when they trespass.

These are illiterate men who know nothing. The only means of livelihood for them is their cattle rearing. They not only operate in Nigeria, but also move around the boarders of Cameroon and the likes. Some of them are not even Nigerians, our government needs to call them up for a "peace talk" which will boost their small ego and so they know that no one is at war with them. This can be achieved with the help of the government of our neighbouring countries since they suffer same. Communication is the only thing that can solve this issue, not by killing the ones at sight, because more will come to take vengeance for the killing of their men.

If they have no community, one should be established for them. Give them their own farmlands and boundaries to rear their cows, that way they'd stop invading the farmlands of others.

  29. It has been said by Philosophers that women are feelers, not thinkers. Just to help move this discussion in the right direction, you may read below for comments culled from other web sites. I could have posted my thoughts, but the comments aptly captured the questions we need to ask.

    Enjoy.

    FreeMind:
"And we all know this may not be true as the igbos would have slaughtered the fulani herdsmen had they tried it. And where are the cows? And I have lived in Abuja all my life. Fulani herdsmen r here they do not have guns and are not killing people. That is not to say that these attacks are not real. I completely doubt this enugu one. In agutu and even in the North these attacks are happening. But my anoyance is the desperate attempt to again turn this into a tribal war?"

    Gbola:
    "You nailed it right.
These are all my very initial concerns -- WHAT IS THE REAL IDENTIFY OF THESE TERRORISTS ??

    Are they cattle herders ??
    Are they even Nigerians ??
    Or
Are they Boko Haram sympathizers ??

    WHO ARE THEY ??

We shouldn't rush into Labelling them as Cattle Herders AS THEY NEVER CAME WITH CATTLE, COWS OR GOATS.
    They came with ONLY Weapons."
