Update - Latest Scam In Town - Kids As Collateral!

Remember the two boys who were used as Collateral to collect stuff from a shop?We have an update.....Read first story HERE.

''The boys further explained that the man took them to a market first to meet with his sister and another friend. We asked the boys to take us to this sister and also the friend. When we got there, turned out the woman was just a random market woman.

The woman we met was Cotonou and couldn't speak English well. She tried to explain to us that the man didn't say anything to her but apparently was trying to give the impression that they knew each other to the kids.

Then he told the kids that the woman was his sister and she was always in the market. Then he took the kids to the other woman that he claimed was his friend. The woman said the man came to meet her and was asking for an AISHA. Then he told the kids the woman was his friend.

Furthermore, the boys are not brothers but friends. One of the boys was sent to deliver turkey to a customer by his mother and was given 8,000 naira. He asked his friend to follow him and that was when they met their doom.

Apparently they were jazzed because they said they couldn't remember much.
We followed the kids to their parent's place and one of the women was more concerned about the missing money than the well being of her child. The other was just quiet and couldn't believe it.

May God help us''.

    1. But why did d sales rep allow d guy to leave with the goods??? Or was d sales person jazzed too??? The normal thing to do was to ask d man to leave the goods,go to ATM,withdraw, pay and carry ur goods. What was d need for him to carry d goods to the ATM??? I blame d sales person too except of course,d jazz touch am too. The woman worrying more abt the money than d safety of the boy must be mad. I guess he is not her child.

    3. If he was that confident about his jazz, then he didn't need these kids to stand as collateral. He could have jazzed the sales person and carried the goods as he did. They should search around the market area well, if this is his modus operandi for survival, he'd be lurking around somewhere. As for the mother that was asking for money, na because she see her pikin alive na, if something else had happened she won't remember 8k

  3. A mother being more concerned about her missing money than her child. Women like these end up bringing up robbers, prostitutes etc cos they push their kids to all sorts and encourage all sorts cos of money. She should have worried about her child first, then the money next. Well I'm sure she must have like 6 other kids more. They always have too many kids

NOT THAT SHE DIDN'T LOVE HER CHILD, BUT N8,000.00 IS A LOT OF MONEY TO BE TAKEN OUT OF THE BUSINESS. THAT SHOWS THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY THESE DAYS WHERE FATHER 7 MOTHER CONSPIRE & SELL THEIR CHILD. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO HELP US

  14. If he jazzed them to follow him to a shop he could have jazzed them to follow him to use them for money rituals. I believed he promised them some money that was why they followed him.

If it was jazz, there won't be any need to be taking them to an alleged sister or friend.

  23. Those naive boyz were used by a heartless bros. Something similar has happened to me before. I was about 10/11 YO, on a Saturday morning both our house help were busy with cleaning, washing, cooking, gardening and all. The volume of what they were cleaning was high, so soap finished in the process. They wanted to leave their chores and go buy soap but my mum reasoned that I should quickly go to get them since its just 3 streets away and I was less busy anyway. She gave me N50 to buy a paint bucketfull of blue omo and another 50 to buy 5 big bar canoe soap. I was very happy sef because outside school, we don't have the freedom of going out. Na so I collect 5 brand new N20 run out of the house. Foolish me, oblivious of the wolves prowling the streets instead of me to put the money in my pocket, I held them in my hands forming errand boy. As I got out of my street unto the main road that led to the other streets na so one bros appear from nowhere begin chat me up. He was so calm and sweet, within minutes he had obtained the information of where I was coming from and going and going to do there. So he told me that he would take me to his aunt who would sell that Omo for me at N40 instead of 50 (my greed kicked in) and that he will give me 6 bar soap instead of 5 for 50. I said oya lets go to your aunty. On that same major road, we turned into another street which was about 2 streets away from where they sent me. He now told me to wait infront of one house where they sell tailoring accessories and materials and to hand over the money so he'd go into the house to call the owner to come sell for us. As I was about handing him the cash my instinct kicked it not to give him, but that extra N10 wey I go gain and the praise wey them go give me if I turned up with 6 instead of 5 soaps pushed me to release the bar. Bros collect money and went in. 5 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins, 30, ye! 40, after alnost an hour I now went into the compound myself to look for the accessories seller. Surprise surprise, the house wey I think say na flat ashe na face me I face you... just a very clean one and there was a gate that led to the other street at the back end of the house. I saw people washinf plates and other house chores there. I come ask them for omo seller, they say nobody like that there - my head do gbagaun. I said thats a lie that the owner of the shop outside sells soap. They said I am mad. I now turn it to beg that one bros brought me and came in here to buy soap, they said a man just came in here to ask for kerosene and that he left through the other gate. At that time, my whole head had flown off. The waiting workers and the belt wey my father go take flog me and my bread and egg breakfast wey my mama go seize from me just dey fly before my eyes. Though they will be thankful to God secretly but that discipline must enforce. I no gree go house o. Till about 1pm I went to hide at a neighbours compound. If I had a gun that day - I would have easily shot that guy because I trusted him completely within minutes. All these was more than 21 years ago. They would have developed more sophisticated ways. Bottom line is, warn your kids to be wary of strangers - its paramount!
