The thought that this mini bus was designed and constructed in Nigeria, by Nigerian Engineers and not foreign Engineers is indeed a hard one to believe....
This Bus was produced inside the University workshop of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, by 7 Graduate Engineers of Mechanical Engineering Department, of the Faculty of Engineering....
These lads have given in their best, to put up this gigantic project within a very short frame of time, and thus, it has become the talk of the town.
One will wonder how undergraduates, who know they have got very limited time to stay in the University and so, should enjoy their last days within the 4-walls of the University, still gave in to stressful and strenuous nights at the workshop, just to write their names on the sands of time.
They are:
EZEIGWE CALLISTUS CHITOO
OBINANI VICTOR CHIMDIKE
NWOBODO NNAMDI MIRACLE
OGBU THADDEUS IKENNA
OMINIGBO FIDELIS IGHO
EZEANOLUE IFEANYI EMMA
OKORO CHINAZA
The bus was test driven in front of the Minister of state for Education, Prof Anthony Onwuka and other top dignitaries present during the National Universities Commission (NUC), held in UNIZIK.
A big applause to these guys, for it is certain that a bright future awaits them. A big congratulations to their supervisor and the Head of Department at that time, Dr. C.H Achebe, for giving his boys every necessary vigor they needed to carry out this work, and above all, for being leading by example.
We wish them the best in their field of specialization, as we look forward to bringing our country on the top list of Innovators in the world.
Wow! We are getting there.😀
ReplyDeleteNice one
DeleteOur government don't see this type of talent.

ReplyDeleteLol! James so u no see road greet the girl wey dey among dem?😀
DeleteThere is nothing special in wot dey did, let's be honest sometimes, is it not wot dey are being taught....Not like the manufactured the parts they just assembled it
DeleteGod will Punish you for saying that! People like you end up not achieving anything in Life. moron you better celebrate others so you too can be celebrated someday.
DeleteHenry Eze you cannot be this daft. it's not legos they are building. they have to ensure both the mechanical and electrical parts function. This is a great feat as engineers are not technicians and it's usually not in their scope to assemble or fabricate. Their job is to design.
DeleteHenry, which one have u and that ur face ever assembled. Can u even assemble that agolo milk, stick, carton and tyres type. Okpo
DeleteVery impressive. Nigeria got talent
ReplyDeleteWhile Yorubas r busy doing their usual paper distinction nd 1st class, Young Igbo undergraduates n schl leavers are busy churning top creative projects capable of transforming a nation..

The only nobel prize winner from Nigeria , the only nigerian origin grammy winners sade adu& seal.
The first tv station wntv ibadan
The first stadium in Africa liberty ibadan
The most developed art work from africa the 11th century oduduwa bust
First african bishop samuel ajayi crowther
Most of the best universities in Nigeria are yoruba universities.
Some of the most prominent pastors in the world including sunday adelaja with the largest congregation in europe
Forbes 2016 top 4 richest nigerians includes 3 yorubas
And sooooooo many i wnt be able to list.
If u dont know what the ibos are blessed with, may be i will tell you later

Deleteup zikites
ReplyDeleteThis is just hideous. Hehehehehe
ReplyDeleteGood.
ReplyDeleteThis is a normal project for mechanical engineering students worldwide. I'm sure other Nigerian students have done the same.
ReplyDeleteWe need to celebrate our own. Imagine if we had cars that were 100% made in Nigeria! Even if it's just tractors, motorcycles or tricycles, they'll go a long way to improve our economy. It's so sad that we even import bicycles and tyres.
If corporations could invest some of their CSR funds into youth empowerment and science projects rather than aimless pageants, maintaining roundabouts and paying millions to celebrities to endorse products that they have no influence over, our youths will find better avenues to apply themselves and create employment for themselves.
Private Univ students over to you guys.
ReplyDeleteThat a good news to be celebrated and talked about and not that Olajumoke's.
Oya, Government take over
ReplyDeleteWill d bus move? It cld be a constructed static bus.

ReplyDeleteNice and creative,
ReplyDeleteGreat job. Talent hunters over to you guys, I wish these Engineers well
ReplyDeleteUna future over bright biko.
ReplyDeleteGood
ReplyDeleteNice but that looks like a small deathtrap oh!
ReplyDeleteThey deserve 24 lashes of koboko on bare buttocks. This nonsense needs to stop! This is a mockery of engineering. With all the free resources on the internet, they came up with this? They should strive to apply the principles of engineering to come up with something of quality and value that could be patented. That's the essence of education not building a replica of a bus abandoned in a mechanic workshop for decades. If this were to be in the 1930s, I will applaud their ingenuity. Roadside and uneducated panelbeaters will come up with a better design and replica. Nonsense!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to them.
ReplyDeleteNice one. With time n effott yhru will improve more...
