University Of Lagos Brouhaha... - Photos

Na wah!

This is a Blog Visitor Report...The photos tell the whole story....

''Mrs Stella
The situation in UNILAG escalated from the protests that we did yesterday. We did protest yesterday for no light and water and today they asked all students to leave the school and Students Union said NO and proceeded to lock the main gate. We had to cross canal and climb fence to leave school because school had become very violent and unsafe. Armed forces were around Attached are pics...''

I hope you all got home safely?...And those who live outside of Lagos, please return home until further notice ooooh!

  2. I see no reason why the students should be protesting cos of water and electricity within the school. Am quite sure they know what is happening in the country. So why protesting against the school when they should have directed their energy to the federal government. I pray they all get home safe. It is well with Nigeria.

    1. Majority of the students think its irrational as well but ULSU(Wahala personified group) want to make their mark. Thank God i left yesterday though i left with barely nothing in my haste. I just want to graduate. #PrayForUnilag

    4. Hmmm! My Alma Mater.

The same crisis happened in Jan 2005 during VC Bisi Ibidapo-Obe's tenure. After the mysterious death of SUG-Akosile.

Nigeria: where exactly did our founding fathers go wrong?

    5. Events by Tegz, I'm sure we were in Unilag during the same period.
That night was scary as hell. I remember the SUG speaker at the time passed on.
      Hope they're all safe.

  11. Why not directed your grief against the government, why protesting against your school, are they the one producing fuel and light

    ReplyDelete
  12. Some students are just animals and the students Union government should be sacked ASAP, is it that the students don't read news or they choose to be dumb how is it the schools fault that there is no electricity or fuel to power the generator sets or pump water. Na like this person they take die like chicken for no reason, instead if advising the students to go home all he could think of is to loco the school gate, the SUG president must be Hausa or moslem.... Take your aggression to the federal government and not ur school

    3. Shut up goat!! Do u know how much funds unilag generates internally? Is there diesel scarcity? Hw will the skool say they have just one diesel generator that can service just 30% of the whole skool? What's wrong with having 4 that can service the whole skool at once? Plus this issue of 'no light' started abt 2yrs ago, and the whole situation in skool already went bad aftr we lost our dear VC, Sofoluwe(RIP sir, we miss you) from increase in fees, to paying money to edit course form and closing portal for registration...just to mention a few! So just shut ur silly mouth since u don't kno what is happening. Rat.

  14. The school was safe, it the school that chased students out of there hostels with the threat of them opening fire on the students. What kind of school does that, it so unfair and unjustified

    1. God bless u. School said they should leave, student union said no (which is normal coz they'll want to prove that the can talk to the school board). Why use force on them? God bless my school o. Them for don show police shege(police no kuku get mouth)

  15. The most annoying part is that the government does not care.. Has the Minister of Petroleum said anything about the fuel scarcity?? Is he back from China?? I don't know if he had a bet to travel the world this year alone.
