‎Ubulu Uku Lifts Ban On Burials...

Natives of Ubulu Uku in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State can now bury their dead ones, following a lift on the ban placed on burials at the early part of January, 2016.

Ubulu Uku tradition is such that no burial takes place 90 days after the announcement of the death of any of their kings.

The demise of Obi Akaeze Ofulue 111 who was murdered in cold blood by suspected Fulani herdsmen was announced sometime in the early part of January 2016 and was buried 19th February 2016.

Since then, traders in the eke market have vacated their stalls in the market place, just as bereaved families suspended burial of their dead ones within the period.According to community sources, April 19 was the final day of the ban.

It is therefore, expected that families are now free to bury their dead ones
who have been kept in mortuary during the past three months
Consequently, burial ceremonies have piled up due to the ban.

Ubulu Ezemu gathered that there are over ten burial ceremonies this

coming weekend alone.

  1. Interesting. I am proud of my custom and tradition to the extent that it isn't repugnant to natural justice. I also enjoy reading about other people's culture. Its one of the things that helps me get off; talk about little pleasures.

    1. Piling dead bodies as in keeping them in mortuaries for long. What is the Jesus about? Like they piled it in their houses or a certain place.
