DeletePlease do not apply any rubbish toothpaste oh. I was in the hospital and a baby was brought in who had umblical cord issues. When they asked the mom what she was rubbing, she said toothpaste. How can one even rub such harsh chemical on a delicate thing such as a baby's umblical cord?
DeleteChiamaka and ify dearie, i used it for my kids and they re fn i mean very okay. After cleaning the cord with spirit and cotton wool instead of applying Vaseline and the rest. Just apply only closeup tooth paste wella and then cover it wella with diaper, i promise u after 2 days it will fall. there is nothing like infection. Its safe. I have used it.
DeleteThere's no need to make the cord fall within 2 daus. Let it fall at the time it's ready to fall. It works yes but what about the harmful effects? Why do you think babies and toddlers have their own type of toothpaste? It's ignorance to apply toothpaste to an open wound. It's like saying applying a little acid to your cream will make you bleach in a day.

A friend used it. Tufiakwa! It got infected n swollen. She took d baby to d hosp and denied applying anytin.
Somtins r just common sense tinz.

J. Ice. Her own got infected because she didnt clean the place wella with spirit. Anyway its good to follow ur private doctors instructions. Thats all.
DeleteShe didn't use it well. after cleaning with methylated spirit, Get a new tube of close up ( red). Squeeze the tube then use a Q- tip, scoop the paste and apply two or three times in a day. Always clean with methylated spirit before applying. I used it with my two kids. It fell off in two days for both of them.

DeletePLEASE DON'T EVER TRY IT! U.C will fall off when it is ready to! I don't know why Nigerian mothers are always in a hurry! Cotton wool and original methylated spirit is very ok. When you mistakenly buy the fake spirit the U.C will stay longer. Patients come to the clinic to complain, by the time we give them a little quantity from the clinic, they will call to say it fell off within 48hours.

ReplyDeleteAhahah this your comment reminds me of something that happened when I was in high school. I think Js2 or 3. We had just finished exams so it was starvation period. Boarders will understand this. In a bid to avoid being sent on errands by seniors in the dormitory, juniors usually gathered around the dining hall waiting for food time.
DeleteWith no food in our lockers we were at the mercy of the tasteless school food. Whilst we were trying to create fun for ourselves, my fiends and I spotted one js1 student sitting alone on a table. At first he was sleeping, then all of a sudden, we saw him reach for something in his bag and was licking it with so much joy. A closer look at this fragile looking boy, we discovered he was licking his close up tooth paste.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, so I summoned him out of curiosity. And I asked why he was licking that much toothpaste. His answer with the most tiniest voice made me cry that afternoon.
He said.. "I'm licking it because I'm hungry". OMG.. I was a junior myself, and here was a new student already going tru the starvation period trauma. Chai. Some of my friends laughed at d boy but I didn't find it funny. I'll never forget that day. What we experienced as boarders ehn, it taught us how to manage.
I have always known about the iron and toothpaste. Will try out the other ones. But I know gel one is for irons. Don't know about the other ones abi na all tooth paste kind?

Every woman needs to have pepper spray and a sharp knife in her handbag at all times. In times of danger, we will not feel paralyzed or go into shock. You will fight for your dignity. If you can't find pepper spray in Nigeria, buy Cameroun or ghost pepper, grind it and mix with water. Put it in a bottled water /beverage container and take it with you everywhere. Avoid rape situations pleade. A word is enough for the wise.

ReplyDeleteIt also act as a laxative,maybe if you are having constipation or indigestion,just take small quantity and squeeze everything inside your mouth,when it starts to produce those foams,just take a glass of water to swallow everything down to your system...you will start seeing changes after few minutes,in no time those toxic gases will disappear and proper digestion will take place.....it works for me 100 percently...2. it helps in after shaving bumps,when you just finished shaving your pubic hairs or any part of your body hairs,just bring out the toothpaste gel,add small water in it and squeeze it gently until those whitish foams starts coming out then rub it on those shaved areas of your body..after few minutes the whole place will congeal and it helps to stop the after shave bumps to sprout out or reduce it...
ReplyDeleteI also discovered some years back it helps to dry up heat-burn so it doesn't form blister. This is only the gel format anyways. The burn heals fast with no skin discolouration.
