On Sunday Evening, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) told founding President of Silverbird Group and Bayelsa Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce that he has no reason to complain again about government but should use his position to take action.
Tinubu who made the remark while delivering his acceptance speech at the ceremony noted that Senator Murray-Bruce had touched a raw nerve when in an emotional speech earlier he had bemoaned the fact that Nigerians lack a sense of history and have been unable to preserve our archival materials.
Asiwaju Tinubu noted “Senator Murray-Bruce, I have a common sense solution to the issues you have raised especially regarding preserving our history. You had a reason to complain before but not any more.
You are in the Senate now just sponsor a bill that will reinstate History in Nigerian Schools''. The whole venue errupted in applause.
Tinubu went further to ask Senator Solomon Olamilekan (Yayi) if he would support such a bill, the APC Senator representing Lagos West responded in the affirmative and Tinubu then turned to Senator Murray-Bruce and said “Ben, the ball is now in your court”.
On the issue of piracy also raised by Murray-Bruce , the Jagaban Borgu and former Lagos State Governor stated that the owners of intellectual property must go digital because that way, they can keep their works secure and also will be able to store large volumes.
He then added jocularly “instead of buying N37m SUV (I hope you did not receive one, Murray-Bruce said no) the money should have been used in putting structures and setting up equipment for those who keep all these works”.
Tinubu noted that any government that wants to make a great impact must plan and develop a vision that will be longer that its own tenure.
He revealed that he and his co-conspirators have been in Abuja planning because it is only through properly planning that Nigeria can lift itself from its present state.
He urged Nigerians to be patient with the Buhari Government noting that the challenges of today would definitely be forgotten and Nigerians would soon have cause to smile.
Earlier, former Lagos State Governor Alhaji Lateef Jakande had insisted that Nigeria had no reason to experience fuel crises because we have all it takes to compete with other nations of the world.
Alhaji Jakande who was a Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient urged Nigerians to close ranks as only a united Nigeria can thrive.
Other Award Recipients included Chief S.L. Akintola, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and Chief Melford Okilo who all got Post Humous awards, while Dr. Oba Otudeko, King Sunny Ade, Chief O. Lulu-Briggs, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Samson Siasia, Chimanda Adichie, Iya Oge of Lagos, Chief Opral Benson, Emmanuel Amuneke, Anthony Joshua, Ben TV Founder, Alistair Soyode and Mr. Akintola Williams all got Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Ace Broadcaster, Soni Irabor was the Master of Ceremonies at the colourful event that was attended by the cream of Nigerian society.

DeleteToday Marks Exactly 7 years when a Yoghurt seller run away with my 1cedi Change in Traffic.😪.... Help me observe a minute silence 🔇..
DeleteLet me expose the real change agenda. They want to claim to use this first four years to clear corruption and return for a other four years for implementation. Na strategy. Nigerians wake up. This is like a liar liar smooth talking hustler deceiving a lady to leave her father's house to come and marry him when he has no vision for his future. The woman believes and goes with him only for him to turn out to be a lazy, opportunist, and procrastinator who ends up using her and her family's wealth to ensure to enrich his own family. Promises Promises. Lies Lies. The woman is seriously considering divorce and the man's family benefiting from the lies are now telling you to be patient. No oshiii. Nigerians shine your eyes. The juju has worn off!!!! Get out!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes they promised us a better Nigeria, but I don't think it will happen immediately, it will definitely take time but I'm sure it doesn't have to be 4 years. Once the APC end it's 2 year of Reign and nothing happens, then we can now start clamouring for another kind of change.
DeleteWith your "know it all attitude" you sound very empty. Out out out! Who will actually do the work? Mention his name or you wait till another person is in and you keep shouting out out out! Then the cycle continues! Be the change you seek and stop complaining.
DeleteAnon 7:24...
DeleteYou are so right!....
We all know this...this government is scam!...
Wisdom from Tinubu. Whether he's a criminal or not should not make one disregard the message. How is it that the only thing a senator knows how to do is complain online? What's team point of being a senator if not to post and pass bills to help solve problems amongst other things?
ReplyDeleteAm sure you dont follow the activities of the senate else you will have noticed bmb contributions and bills sponsored and co sponsored.
DeleteOur politicians know what to do but won't. Talk is cheapand Ben Bruce knows it.
ReplyDeleteEnd time schooling
ReplyDeleteGood for them
ReplyDeleteLOL@Tinubu.
ReplyDeleteI have preserved my own history, and trust me,Jagagban,i have not forgotten you.
Tinubu is the new Obasanjo...
ReplyDeleteTinubu is right. Ben Bruce is a senator and has that opportunity to pass d bill rather than going on line all the time to discuss with fellow Nigerians dat can do nothing., cowards behave d way he is behaving
ReplyDeleteSo Ben Bruce cab just wake up and pass a bill?? Oh wow, didn't know that's how the senate work. I thought as a senator you can bring your bill to the table and it would be debated on. If others agree with you then it would be passed and signed.
DeleteWell said Jagaban but it would have made more sense if they really mean this change
ReplyDeleteNice one Jagaban

God help us but the Igbos should rise n fight back....this is inhuman! .....stella if you like swallow my comment....They can't wipe away Igbos
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha.....
ReplyDelete..."sponsor a bill that will reinstate History in Nigerian Schools," and the same APC will throw it away. Let the APC senators sponsor it first.
ReplyDeleteI Love Mr. Reuben Abati's article... Buhari should "CUT the cost of governance," if he want to achieve 'change' not buying N37M cars/one when some people cannot even pay school fees. The worst of it his FULANI BROTHERS massacred IGBOS IN THEIR HOMES.
Anonyymous 7:24, well said!.... Jagaban be eating Nigeria money already tscheww..abeg make this their 4 years waka pass..kent wait for this Ajimobi to finish his tenure
