    1. The answers so far actually prove that the emptiest brains make the loudest noise. I will never ever exchange words with anyone on this blog again, chai!

The answer is 500 i.e the one he stole.
He owes 100 and paid for it with a N500 note, and he was given change.
Imagine that he did not steal the N500 and paid his debt of N100 with a N500 note, won't you still give him change?

    1. More like 1000. He stole 500, owing 100 and another 400 was given to him.

    1. You missed the part that says he gave you 500 first before you gave the 400 change. So that's 500 owed and not 1k. Mbok

  7. 100. cos it is assumed that the 500 the person the collect has been given back and the previous 100 is still outstanding.
By the way, Aunty Stella, dont you ever come up with the correct answer? make person know

  8. 600. 500+ 100.... You can't add the 400 cos that's the 500....answer is 600

  13. Let say another person is owing you that N100...

  14. #400

Stole #500. Paid #100. Gullible owner gave him a change of #400. So now he's just stealing #400.

God, that had better be it. I hate Math.

  15. To me it's 400
Cos 400 given to d theif is d moni he/she got from ÄŽ owner as change and Dat d amount wit d thief

  16. 1000. He is owing u 100 + 500 he stole and u gave him back 400. Add all na 1000k

    ReplyDelete
  17. 400. You gave him back his five hundred and he gave you 400. So the first 500 was not actually lost.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry, 500. He was meant to have 600. But ended up having 100.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 1000 nah. The stolen 500 + 400 Change given + 100 owed.

Stella u no no book oh

    ReplyDelete
  20. Its 500 bcos all d money put together is 1k and I have 500 at hand.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 1000. He stole 500, owes you 100 and you gave him an extra 400. That's how I se it

    ReplyDelete
  22. Na only talk and abuse una sabi....olodos. N100.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 900 lol. He stole 500 from me which is a loss, owe me 100 which he paid with my stolen 500 and I returned 400 to him. I have 100 with me which he was owing; so all he needs to return back is my 500 he stole from me and my 400 I gave him as change.

    ReplyDelete
  24. D guy lost all the money involved which is 1000

    ReplyDelete
  25. -500 stolen and -100 owed = -600 . -600+500 given back = -100 .-100 -400 change given = -500.therefore he is owed N500.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Dear bvs, haba! Una no know maths o. The person lost only 500 now. Since that was the amount that was stolen. The transaction between them as per borrowing and payback does not affect the stolen money.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Olodo's everywhere. 500 is the correct answer.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Enough of yabis, the person that set the question should please give answer.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The answer is #100

    ReplyDelete
  30. its 400
    Reason
    You owe me 100
You came to my house to steal 500
You gave me the 500 back (I have collected the 500 you stole)
    and I gave you 400.
