Students Of OAU Write Touching Tribute To Lecturer..

When people like BORA die, you are forced to ask yourself if life really deserves all our struggles, hard work, sacrifice, good deeds and all the impact we made even when it was not convenient.

Mr Akande Wasiu A.k.a BORA

BORA was a great man whose impact transcends his religion. He shared his inspiring story with us severally, how he struggled as an undergraduate from a poor home but graduated with an excellent result. He shared his many dreams but never mentioned going so soon. He left a great legacy, he impacted so many lives.

He was Jovial to a fault, humble, passionate and loved by everyone, he was the most extra friendly, most humorous lecturer in Accounting department. He was  so good to students, very brilliant and hard-working. As an undergraduate, his grades were either 'B' or 'A' where his A.k.A BORA was coined.

People didn't miss his classes because aside teaching students to understand, you will never get enough of his jokes, and he was just a man you would love to emulate. As a lecturer, many wondered if he was still a student with the way he interacted with his students. His course was usually a CGPA booster. His project students were usually the luckiest. Even when students inevitable got him angry, he forgave and forgot and was seen smiling in no time. He so much believed in the ability of his students to succeed. He was a perfect definition of a GOOD LECTURER.

He couldnt stop talking about Chelsea, an Ardent fan.

Your death is a great loss to OAU, and most importantly, Management and Accounting department.
In all, you have finally left this stressful world and we pray GOD forgive you all your sins and grants you eternal rest. We also pray that GOD gives your family especially your wife the strength to bear the loss and raise your kids(his kids are still small). We love you but GOD loves you more. ADIEU MR AKANDE A.k.a BORA a
lecturer of OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY, ILE-IFE/ Department of Management and Accounting.

  15. "Kosi ere ni Moscow, keke towa ni Holland won fi se isè ni"

BORA was known for d frequent use of the above Lines which literally mean

"Every activity in Moscow is done with much seriousness, the bicycle used in Holland is to aid productivity not for pleasure"

Mr. Akande (BORA) was a man with a caring heart, and with a high sense of humour. Though, i never had any direct contact with him, but he was a lecturer that every NUASA-final year student would always wish was their project supervisor...
Some broken heart, may never mend,
    Some memories may never end,
Some wet tears may never dry,
But our Love for you will never die. RIP BORA
There is no such thing as death! What seems so is transition; this life of mortal breath is but a suburb, Whose portal we call Death!.

    His good deeds live on!!
May His soul rest in perfect peace!!!

  21. To a lecturer like no other
You understood your students inside out, you knew how to bring the best out of us. What more good could be done by a teacher whose students know that you only care about their success and nothing. You bring out the best in us by telling us those experiences you had as a student, though from a humble background, you rose to defy the odds giving some of us the courage to press on no matter the circumstance. Though I had no personal relationship with you, the only time you spoke to me I busted into laughter, and first impression lasts long. You’ve reignited that commitment in me that I should always endeavour to cause smile on people’s face, that’s what they can ever be grateful for when they think of us. The void you left behind can never be filled. And may God grant us and your family the fortitude to bear this loss.

RIP BORA, You will be greatly missed.

  30. FOR THOSE PEOPLE SAYING HE WAS A true lecturer (WITH EVERY SENSE OF RESPECT TO THE LECTURER AS I AM NOT BASHING HIM IN ANYWAY)

Was he good in your opinion because he probably dashed you marks, or he imparted knowledge.,

Students dont mind not to really learn, but to pass and it affects them in graduation and at masters level
