Chiamaka is now with the Lagos state government...

Hello Stella,
Good day. I am so excited, sorry my update is coming late, Chiamaka as been formally handed over to the Lagos state government social officials by the police.
I am so grateful to you and your fast and apt response. God bless you.
Indulge me to acknowledge the Governor and Government of Lagos state, my learned friend and colleague Barr. Kunle from the Attorney General's office, the DPO and IPO of Ajao Estate police station, thanks for your show of expertise and finesse. I am grateful to all these people.
Stella thank you so much. I am grateful.
Kindly find attached a picture as evidence.
Thanks,

Barr. Lynda Akachi.

Please the genesis of how Chiamaka was discovered and saved from every day flogging...

    2. I heard a gist today that left my hairs standing. It happened recently.

A woman who's in charge of a little girl of 7 brutally murdered her because of indomie. Yeah you read right. Indomie! There have been previous records of physical abuse meted out to this child by the woman. On that fateful day, she asked the girl to make indomie for her child. The lady left to God knows where leaving the baby and the girl at home. The little girl made the food but ate it because the baby was fast asleep.

Obviously the girl must have been starving. The woman came home and demanded for the food. The girl told he she had eaten it. My People, this woman locked the door and started beating this girl like Mike Tyson. She hit the girl so hard the neighbors gathered after hearing the girl's screams. They begged tirelessly but she didn't relent until she slammed the girl's head against the wall.

The little girls head was smashed with brain matter falling out. She died instantly. The neighbors called the police and had her arrested but her husband ran to the station in the company of a friend to get her released. He sent her to the village immediately to avoid prosecution. The child's corpse has been sent home to her parents.

Now tell me, isn't this wickedness and injustice pressed down and shaken together? You pray for a child of your own yet you can't show an iota of love to another woman's child. This slavery must stop!

  6. Better..

Its good she is in the hands of the goverment instead of her parents.
Cos if she's taken back to her parents, they will most definitely give her out to someone again for same slavery.

But being with the lagos state gov, will ensure her getting quality education, and good health-care.
Every child deserves to be safe, and live without having to worry about anything.

  7. We have to thread with caution here. I'm not a supporter of police paroles, she's female hope she won't be raped. I was beaten mercilesly by my both parents my biological parents that doesnt mean they didn't love me. It was the only form of correction known to them as at then .I was the first , they were still young and agile.now they are old and feeble they can't even moster strength to yell at my younger ones. The way my younger ones behave u would wonder if it's the same parent that brought us up. They were disciplinarians to me.my point is as long as they didn't use hot iron, hot water and those inhumane forms of correction. A rod cannot spoil a child just don't overdo it cos at a threshold it reaches a marginal diminishing return. I would rather have her remain with her parents than be with any of these Nigerian official who may molest or Rape her. My two cents.

    1. Quick question.
Did you see the girl's bruises? If yes then you deserve to be whipped for making this comment. There's a difference between parental discipline and outright wickedness. Lookatew twisting your mouth like you don't know how naija people behave with houshelps.

    3. Another quick question: did ur parents resort 2 pinching u within d corrective measure process too?if yes,den dey mst b possessed! Speaking as. 1 of d iniators of Chiamaka's rescue, her aunt is a mother of 5 n also heavily pregnant nw,her kids ain't got 1 mark of their bodies n Chiamka is older dan her 1st daughter wt 3 yrs!2 worsen d whole case is dt dey dnt even feel remorse 4 their actions(her,d aunt, her husband,d lady's dad n younger brother too!!)d world is indeed cruel abeg!!!

I was the only child then oh, u would have thought they would pamper me.I still have marks from their beatings, thinking of it now maybe they took out their frustration of not having more children on me.

  9. The parents should come and take their child. If na garri dey see to drink, so be it. Pikin don de waka from one hand to the other, slowly missing out of her childhood and school.

  11. If they return her to her parents, I am sure in few months time they will take her to another so called Aunty.
Anon there is a difference btw disciplining a child and physically abusing a child, you can flog a child few strokes but not to an extent of causing grievous bodily harm. Did you see those blood stained marks on her body. One day this girl can get internal bleeding from d beating.
There was a young child in d UK in d 90s, Victoria smthn dat came from an African country and came to Uk to live with her aunt and aunts boyfriend. D girl eventually died in dere care, after beatings, dey will make her sleep in a cold unheated bathroom, hardly feed her.
If the parents can't fend for dis child, let them take her to a Home where she will be educated, adequately feed and play with her mates. There are so many around. I went to one in Oniru in lekki during Xmas, those kids are so well looked after.

  12. Well done Stella. Nigeria can be great again you know. Now it's time for proper laws and enforcement of these laws to take place. I put it to you Stella that a lot of your blog readers are guilty of partaking by virtue of just aiding in promoting child abuse. (Remember that child you bought bole, pure water, tomatoes from???)I also put it to you that a lot of them treat their "house helps" with as much disdain and disregard as they can muster, pay them pittance and work their arses like dogs. I put it you you Stella. Ask them how they treat their drivers, cooks, gateman, washer man etc Infact anyone they perceive they are "better" or more "blessed" than. You will be shocked if you are a fly perched on a wall in their houses. You will be shocked.
