RESCUE OPERATION BY THE CECE YARA FOUNDATION

‎''Dear Stella,
Greetings from The Cece Yara Foundation.

Thank you for giving child protection and prevention of child abuse a voice through your blog.

Your blog post titled “Child Abuse- Please Save Chiamaka Ezeugo” was brought to our notice at 8pm on March 31st and staff promptly logged this report as a child protection case requiring emergency intervention.

Today 8Yesterday) April 1st, we took the necessary action in collaboration with partners in the Lagos state government and we are glad to inform you that Chiamaka Ezeugo has been rescued from the abuse location, taken to a temporary safe home and the perpetrator of abuse (her aunt) has been remanded in custody for arraignment on Monday 4th April.

Please note that we apply a child focused and family centered approach which will consider Chiamaka's best interests and family support, especially concerning her future living arrangements and care.

The Cece Yara Foundation is a newly established operational foundation in Lagos, Nigeria working to strengthen child protection and prevent child sexual abuse. We are a registered nonprofit, politically and religiously unaffiliated.

Once again, thank you for using your platform to raise awareness, report child abuse and facilitate an effective referral for child protection services in Nigeria.

We look forward to collaborating with you and other media persons reporting child abuse in Nigeria. The awareness that child abuse is criminal is low and we believe such reports will facilitate the actualization of our vision; “A safe childhood for every Nigerian child – free from sexual abuse and with easy access to information, protection, care and emergency intervention if needed”.

    2. What a stupid and irresponsible comment. Has it occurred to you that the girls' looks have probably become hardened over time from the relentless abuse that's been dished out to her? It doesn't matter how Satanic a child is, it's best to send the child back to her owners rather than inflict such wounds on her body in the name of discipline.

    3. If she is stubborn, isn't it right for the aunty to send her home to her parents? Any woman that hits a child that is not hers at every slightest provocation should wait for God's wrath

    4. If I say make thunder fire u now,dem go say I get bad mouth...so frm her looks,u deduced she is stubborn bah? So what if she is,does it warrant this kind of beating? U are one of the wicked auntys doing this to other people's kids that's why it's easy for u to not feel any empathy. Wicked soul!

    5. May God save your soul for making such a stupid comment.

    6. U are very stupid for saying all this rubbish there is no morally justification to treat a child that is not yours in such a manner. If a child is stubborn send her back to her parents. Instead of beating her dis way. Beating her will even make her more hardened . WOMEN PLS STOP DIS WICKED ACT

  12. That is how they brought a house maid of about 12yrs for my grand ma. I have told her to return the girl, I can't cum and bail anyone from prison abeg.
Told her I will give her her money back. She's paid for 2mths for d girl. Just 6k for 1mth imagine, I know she can't see her money again. I told her I will refund her 12k. I can't shout.
I know the parents will still take her somewhere else, but I can't stand a child working.

  14. I hope the wicked Igbo women on this blog are reading this, CHANGE! or you will end up in the news like this madam.
No one should come here and scream 'tribalism' 90percent of this child help violence is being perpetrated by IGBOs.

    1. Another stupid comment. Child abuse is perpetrated by all tribes...wickedness is not specific to any tribe. And for your information, I'm proudly Yoruba.

I leave the Igbos on the blog to defend themselves...they will rip you apart!

  16. Anon 12.14 if a child is stubborn and wicked. Kindly send them back to their parents full stop.
Is it until she mistakenly kills dis child one day, or d devil even enters d child and she pushes d so called Aunty down d stairs, or even stabs her.
This is child abuse, plain and simple.

  17. I wonder how people who maltreat children who help them with chores sleep at night, they forgetthey have children. I bet u,this wicked woman maltreating this child doesnt beat her child like that, some go as far as using iron, stick to hit them at every slightest provocation. For every woman maltreating ur house help, your children will go thru same under ur nose. Na women like this pray pass and call on God like say tomorrow no dy,they always expect miracles to happen in their lives. Bastards

  21. All of a sudden everyone is now a kind person on this blog.so who are the mean people with their wicked comments? I'm very sure the madam of the girl is a bv, and its very likely she was among the bvs that spoke out yesterday.even known wicked souls like ebi and doppelganger are against the act.wonders.
Anyway, I don't support such, but I also hate hypocrites.most of you here have lil house girls that they do worse things to.evil people everywhere!

  22. May God be praised always! I just don't know why some ladies derive much joy in hitting their house help with little provocation, always remember you are a mom too or hope to have kids someday so why treat another's child with much wickedness. Hope you will clap for someone for treating your child this way no matter how stubborn your child is.

  23. Please who is this CeceYara Foundation? Thank you for rescuing her, but you never mentioned returnin the child to her parents. Where are her parents? Please follow up Stella, let this young girl get home.

  26. Most of those women who abuse their maids who are brought from the village do not know how to cope with stress - If stress management is widely taught and put into practice in Nigeria, we will not have cases like this. Little girl bearing the burden of an adult all in the name of better life.
